Sergeant York is the first one that popped in my head. Great movie. And Alvin York was born in Tennessee

I remember watching this one in black and white during junior high.

I’ve never read the book so I don’t know the differences. I do know my Dad was at Fort Benning with some of the guys in the battle, so I’ll have to ask him about it. My Dad holds General Moore in very high regard.

He should, General Moore is a hell of a leader.

Frankly about the only thing the movie got right was that their was a battle and a platoon was cut off along with some individual acts depicted in the movie that happened. Not much else.
