Ok I am stoked about the Lane Kiffin story which means we have new blood coming to our University on the Hill. Also though if notre dame cuts bait with Charlie Weiss then hopefully they pluck Urban Meyer out of the SEC. Imagine that all of this.

I can't see someone building a powerhouse almost instantly at a school like Florida in the best conference, and then leaving for some school that thinks they are a power although they haven't won a bowl in about 15 years.

I dont think that ND can afford to get Urban away from FL. I think it would take 7-8 mil to get him away. I am still not sold on the idea that ND can afford big fat Charlies buyout.

Florida will match any offer notre dame comes up with. They'd have better luck trying to get brian kelly. I'm not sure kelly is sexy enough for notre dame anyway. Those people live in such a state of denial in south bend, they probably think they can get bellichick from new england.

ND is the richest school in college football... at least I should say that their football program is worth the most.

They could pay 10 mil a year if they wanted too but they don't care if they win or lose because General Electric will put their games on NBC for the next millenia reguardless of their record. Btw, they are non-conference and don't have to share any rev so they banking around 100 mil/year

kelly will be at notre dame...he's cheap and he wants that job. this isn't your grandpa's notre dame anymore, that job isn't what it used to be and coaches see that.

If UT can pay 6mil then ND can pay 10mil. That's the high end of this ESPN story.

On top of that, ND knows that (someone) will scream racism if they don't fire him with a worse record than Willingham. Agree or not, it will make it easier for the domers to show him the door.
