Best of the Vols in the last 30 years.......

I thought the game was beautiful. It was a gritty slugfest, full of good defense and great special teams, primarily by Dustin Colquitt (I'm not sure I have ever seen a punter have quite such a direct effect on an outcome in a positive way,) decided by a gambling, gutsy playcall that was executed to perfection.

In my mind, that is football as it should be.
I guess I wanted us to score all over them but I see your point.

You are taking solace in the fact that we got pummeled by Nebraska more than 10 years ago? That makes you feel better about Alabama, now? Wow, things have really deteriorated for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama? What? Wow, I must have really screwed up somewhere if I give off the impression that I am a Bama fan.

I am literally a born and raised UT fan. 26 years now...got both of my college degree's from there...although, before you ask, the instrument I use to clean my teeth is indeed a teethbrush and not a toothbrush...:)

And by the way....the reason I think it's so awesome is due almost entirely to Spurrier...not some cheap solace I have to find due to UF's recent success

1. Toughest opening game for the Vols in the last 30 years would be?
2. Toughest bowl game in last 30 was?
3. Sweetest pass last 30?- 1998 Price
4. Sweetest run last 30?

1. Syracuse 1998, UCLA 1994, and Colorado 1990 are the three that come to mind. I can still see Darian Hagan and Eric "Sleeping With" Bienemy running the I-Bone to perfection.

2. January 1, 1998. Nebraska beat us like a red headed stepchild in the second half. A machine, I tell you.

3. Several come to mind. Peyton's 4th and 1 aborted QB sneak, turned TD pass to Marcus Nash in 1996 Between the Hedges. Tee's bombs against FSU and down the stretch against MSU in the SECCG.

4. Not one single run, but I'll never forget Travis Henry's 43 yards in the last minute, on the same freakin play, against Arkansas, in the Stoerner game. People forget that we still had to drive, and we did, in the rain, all on the ground. That O-Line and Cheese were not going to be denied.

For some reason I also always thought that you were a fellow Bama fan. You post like you are anyway.

Wow that's a real shock...I'm absolutely positive I've never said anything good about Bama. It would seem to me that I would have to post at least a few good things about them to be mistaken for a Bammer

Also...I would have thought that having a white T surrounded by orange as an avatar the entire time I've been a member of this message board would have been a dead give away as to where my loyalty lies

This could really hurt my street cred but here goes. While what Florida has done in the past 15 years and particularly the past 2 is very impressive, I respect what Tennessee has done more for what they have consistently done in the last 100 years. The only ill will I have for Tennessee only involves the Head Snitch and not the players or fans. But when Urban Meyer cried on camera I lost ALL respect for him. There is NO CRYING IN FOOTBALL!! But I think the Gators will nip you in the Swamp. Of course we've beaten the Gators 3 out of the last 4.
