Regarding the play call to Moore for the win in OT, said Chaney made the call because "He probably didn't want to call anymore plays."

If you don't get that I'm sorry, but I laughed out loud when I read it.

"...field goal gods..."

I love Dooley's sense of humor! He's hysterical!

Jim Chaney is not a true fan or he would want to call plays 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I've said all along, Dooley would be a great AD.

I still don't know if he can coach. He'll need players before we can figure that out.

I know a guy who is a LaTech grad and he said that most folks in Ruston still like Dooley quite a bit and said almost the same thing:

"Dooley is an average coach with a great business acumen that helps in the PR Department".

He did a helluva a lot better job at hiring his staff than Hamilton did in hiring him.

That may sound odd, but it's the simple truth.

Coaches want to work for him. They don't want to work for Mikey. He's also a whole lot better in front of a microphone. Much, much smarter than Hamilton, although that's not saying much.

In the post game show he said,"We need to put a tent up out there because third downs are like a circus for us". Never heard that one before. This guy has a quick whit. His comment remind me of another sec coach.

Than on the field, yes I agree.

There is such a large body of work to judge him by. I haven't decided if the guy can coach or not, and 4 games don't give me enough to go on--especially with the amount of youth he is having to play.

I dont know why he was tired of calling plays...we only ran 28 to their 150!

So true.

But no matter how thin we are...we don't seem to be able to make the adjustments to that after three weeks. we knew we were thin after getting slaughtered by oregon. we knew we were thin last week when we all but handed the game to florida. we knew we were thin today and were one FG kicker away from losing by two touchdowns. i don't care how thin you are at some point a great coaching staff will find a way to put the pieces in place to win or at least compete. we have not done that after 4 games.

if we play in october like we did in september, it may be the longest month of the year for all vol fans.

"When we go at third and 6 you can just get the punt team ready."

Evidently Johnny told him he needed to get a quick kick play in earlier in the week. Dooley was dubious at first, but yesterday said he might do it.

I thought we were purposefully false starting on 3rd and 1 in order to end the duck egg on 3rd and > 6.
