Best bassist ever

Victor Wooten and Jaco Pastorious are easily the best bassists of all-time. There is no debate. They make Les Claypool look like a punk.

Victor Wooten owns.

I like Les Claypool, Flea, and Cliff Burton. They get honorable mentions.

Victor Wooten and his brothers used to play every Wed. night at 3rd & Lindsay in Nashville. Those Wooten Bros. were fun, funky, and only $5-&10 to see:rock:

no hes sweet for sure but do the les one for link for me
I know, it's all love for me. I love Les Claypool, I have owned like 5-6 albums with him on it, 3 Primus and a few others. I don't know where they are now. Les is fantastic and probably the best ever at the slap technique...

But ask any bassist, and Jaco is 99 times out of 100 the most influential bassist of all time. What Jimi Hendrix was to electric guitar, Jaco was ten times that to bass guitar. It's almost hard to comprehend the importance the man has had on modern music, and especially because he is only particularly well-known now in musicians circles.

It's a technique called harmonics. There's a few ways to do them, pinch harmonics and elevated harmonics are the two ways I know about.
