Pretend none of the starters are hurt. Who is the best 2nd string QB in the NFL?

Id say Brian Griese for the Bears

Matt Schaub, easily.

Garrard is up there.
Warner is up there.

Bears fans and experts calling for Griese will be disappointed at the end of the season if they make the change.

You don't really have to pretend that Vick is hurt to see Schaub is a better QB.

I agree they are 10-2 with Grossman so you stay with him even if he is struggling. He sure looked great at the first of the year.

Vick is better than Schaub when his all around game is clicking on all cylinders.....But I do agree, Schaub is probably the best 2nd string QB in the NFL

Matt Schaub (Should be starting in Atlanta)
What has impressed you the most about him, the 48% career completion percentage or the way he holds a clipboard?

Schaub is a very good backup, but don't go crazy. With their current personnel, the Falcons would be lucky to win 5 games with Shaub starting.

Depends. In his first start ever, in 2004, he looked like crap. However, his only other start EVER, was in 2005 against the New England Patriots, and he was awesome ... magnified by it being against the Pats.

Is it time for the Falcons to find and draft a franchise QB?:whistling:

I think so. Mike Vick (Or Michael, whatever) is about used up. Just MO.

Vick is about as reliable and dependable as a case of herpes. You never know when he'll show up.

OK, bad example...

It's en vogue to rip Vick, but even as erratic as he is, I still believe he is the only thing keeping the Falcons from being a total disaster.

I disagree. His team can already generate tons of rushing yards. He adds little with his rushing. His passer rating is consistently one of the worst of the starters.

Rip him for being an erratic passer, but I think Vick adds a TON to the running game just by walking onto the field. Probably 60-75% of the rushing plays in the Falcon playbook are based on the threat of Vick keeping the ball.

Not for some of us, some saw his potential long before it was en vogue!:zeitung_lesen:

Rumor floating around that my Raiders are going to give up the farm and get Vick (this would be a typical Al move), if this happens I will turn in my spiked shoulder pads! I may have wished this upon myself! But considering the shape the Raiders are in, I may be better off!

Matt Shaub has played good sparingly. When teams get film on him is when you really can tell..

I dont know if it counts but i say Tony Romo. He was the back up for half the season so i say he counts.

Drew Bledsoe is a backup now as well, forgot about him.

Not that he's that good, but... it beats Kerry Collins.

Jared Lorenzen looked good right in front of me at the Titans/Giants game. Now, if he were to throw those balls in an actual game, I don't know.

I dunno if I'd take Collins over Bledsoe... Collins can't even get a bust for the Titans off the field.
