Berry Receives Tatum Award.

That's exactly what I was thinking, an Ohio based club give the award to the most deserving player even though a kid in their own backyard won the Thorpe award.

GREAT!!! That is who he has reminded me of since I watched him play last season. Tatum was one badass football player. It is a very old book but if you can find it (and are interested) read They Call Me The Assassin by Jack Tatum (Title might be a little different, but it is his autobiography and has Assassin in the title). Great stories about Woody Hayes recruiting him.

Snot bubble tackles!!!

I just can't leave this alone. Sorry, but when Tatum was at OSU he did not have a set position, Woody just said go where you want and make the plays...I think they called him a Roverback or Monster, but back them know one could beleive Woody would allow a player to have such freedom. I thought we could have used EB the same way this year, as both he and Tatum hit like LBs, had great field vision, good feet, quick hands, and a nose for the ball and creating mayhem. For the record I am not nor have I ever been an OSU fan or for Oakland...it has always been the VOLS and Steelers until Peyton went to Indy. I used to cheer against Tatum like crazy in the epic battles with Pittsburgh, but he was one hell of a player.

Berry was punked for the Thorpe. He is an all American, cant take that away. Thorpe was the biggest rip off since 97 Heisman.
