the rest of your conference.

Right now, most of the SEC is struggling. I wasn't feeling very good about Tenn even if they won.

Then, I thought about the conference. Mizzu is awful. A&M got embarrassed. Auburn is getting embarrassed right now. S Carolina is still bad. Kentucky is having self inflicted wounds and Florida's offense looks more of what we expected.

Tenn still has a long way to go to be "good" but the 1st step is being better than the teams in your conference, and Georgia and Arkansas are the only teams that are impressing me.

Honestly, Arkansas is solid, but far from intimidating IMO.

I’m just surprised how sloppy and undisciplined the offense and special teams were tonight. This team usually comes out firing on all cylinders in the first qtr. I just hope they pull it together and perform to the potential we know they’re capable of. Defense was a nice surprise.

I would have loved to slobberknock Pitt, but this kind of dirty, ugly, gritty win may have told is more about our team, and serve us better going forward. At least that’s my hope.

Heck call me crazy but I’m feeling pretty good.

To me Pitt is better than I thought. I knew they were decent, but they’re pretty good.

Tennessee just went into their house and beat them.

Tennessee’s O isn’t always going to struggle. They won’t always muff punt returns, or fumble, or have punts blocked, or get down 10-0 early.

However they found a way to win……on the road, vs a pretty good team……even when things weren’t going their way.

Yea……I’m feeling pretty good.

Pitt turned that game into a slug fest and UT beat them at their own game. You survive and move on. A few ranked teams weren’t so fortunate today. We played a C - game and still beat a ranked team. Good things are ahead if we can clean up our mistakes.

The game today was one we would’ve found a way to lose every other year in recent memory. Finding ways to win despite multiple mistakes on the road against a top 25 opponent shows me that we are a good team, or at the very least can be when we play up to our potential. If we start out 4-0 and beat Florida there’s no reason for us not to end up second in the East behind Georgia.

Sloppy play has been Tennessee’s Achilles heel ever since the decline began. I will be concerned if Heupel doesn’t clean it up quickly. But at least our tackling (for the most part) was solid tonight. That was VERY encouraging
Too many costly penalties though 😬

All teams have off days. It’s still early in the season. What matters is you battle early in the season and get the win. Alabama struggled today but you think they won’t be in the playoffs??
My point is, yea teams are struggling, but those close games Good for a teams confidence down the road when they have another close game.

Yeah I was surprised by special teams as well outside of the field goal unit, that field goal to go back up 7 was extremely huge, it guaranteed us at least the overtime. With that being said, I’m not so sure if Trevon Flowers should even be our return guy I would lean more towards Holliday or squirrel next week.

Very happy with the win. I think it’s still early and this was the 1st real challenge - things should get better all around. But since we’re gonna bellyache about SOMETHING, it bothers me that we couldn’t put up more offense in the 2nd half … AND would we have won this game with their QB 1 still in the game for the 2nd half ?

We certainly have more speed with those guys, and I do trust they would protect the football better.
