This is from the same guy who did Orgeron's "Meat Market" book. It's a very good little read.

I looked and didn't see it posted. If it was and I missed it, I apologize.

This is the type of energy we need on the hill. Tennessee is a great place to play football and with this staff top recruits will be blown away.

I loved this quote by Coach O:
After a few players are shown, Orgeron, UT offensive coordinator Jim Chaney and assistant coach David Reaves clearly aren't impressed by the talent level.

"O.K., lemme back up," Orgeron says, without turning back to face the recruiting guys running the video from the back of the room. "We are at Tenn-uh-SEEEE! We wanna see TOP players."

This is the type of energy and work ethic we should be seeing at UT. I suspect this same sort of thing was going on during Fulmer's early career before the complacency set in.

nice read

Is there any corelation between USCe, QB issues and Reaves..
Seems like USCe is struggling at QB, and we just took the QB coach and recruiting guru, that landed them

That does concern me a little bit. As a matter of fact, Reaves is the only staff member that I'm not crazy about. Some of my USCe-fan friends claim that he is a huge party animal (to the point of being a problem), and they feel he only got the job here because of his personal connection with CLK. (Although that was a good thing for the DC....) :)

USCe QB issues all start and stop with Spurrier. Think back on his carreer. He has been mowing thru QB's for years. Danny Wuerfel is the only QB that ever ran his system. Reaves is young and will have CLK watching and working right beside him with the QB's.

With what we have seen from CLK so far. He is all business. I don't think he will put up with a coach partying his @$$ off and not doing his job. I agree he seems to be the weakest link, but at this point I trust CLK and the way he has started at UT.

me too, I think it had more to do with nepotism, than qualification

The item that got my attention was the fact that they
are using services that deal in high school football game footage. It's probably a sin to admit it.I was unaware that such a service existed.

I also thought that The staff was focused om the task at hand. That they seemed to have a clear path toward their goals.

GO VOLS.

Reaves has the same job and responsibilities as at USCe. I was under the impression he's used mainly for recruiting and the head coach is the one responsible for QBs. He's QBs coach in title only.

Don't forget that Chaney knows how to groom qb's too...I think you'll see a combination of CLK Chaney and Reeves all working on our qb situation.

Reaves is here because of his recruiting. He wasn't very hands on at USCe because of SOS...so the jury is still out on his coaching ability.

However, the key is not to forget we already have two guys on staff that are excellent with QB's...CLK and Chaney.

Reaves will be learning from those two, and basically teaching their philosophy.

Shouldn't be an issue IMO.

With OC experience, and the QB's he coached at Purdue, Chaney should be great with the QB's.

I think Chaney, and Wilson are the hidden gems in this staff.

True. Frank Wilson is a stand up guy. He also has a well documented work ethic that is rarely ever matched by anyone.

Dan Mullen has to be upset he lost him...

Lane has assembled the best coaching staff in college football and some people can only talk about weak links.....lol. There are no weak links on this staff. Get a clue or buy a vowel. This staff has no weaknesses. This thing will get done one way or the other. Go Big Orange.

Yeah, I was reading Mullen's remarks about him, before Lane got him. That has got to suck. Looks like Mullen was headed in the right direction, and we pulled the rug out from under with this hire. Glad we got him.

Mullen's first taste of what coaching at Miss St. will be like as opposed to UF. It was going to be difficult for Mullen to go up against Ole Miss, LSU, Arkansas, Auburn and Alabama for recruits. Now, we have the best recruiters for that area as well. I really don't how Mullen will do it but at least he's running the only spread O in the SECW.

Wilson meant more to him, than he did to Lane. As far as needing him. Dude has his work cut out for him.
