Look, Saturday was as bad as it gets, however.. this could be one of those losses that might turn out to be a good thing in the long term. This loss and the embarrasment could light a fire under the rock star coaching staff and the players to propel them to go on a tear and play above themselves, you just never know how this will turn out in the long run, or it could just be something they do not recover from, i am being realistic when i say the only way left to go is up from here. I am perturbed but i haven't given up quite yet. What say you?

See Jordan Murphy's tweet to see how upset he is over the loss.

If it were a close loss to a ranked team, I would say we're on our way. But a calamitous loss to a 26pt dog in the first game of the season is inexplicable. We're lower than a snake's belly now, and I don't see anything good about what happened last weekend, other than a lot of the younger guys might see the field sooner, like Mauer I hope.

This is the third straight lose. If the blowout to Vandy last year didn't light a fire then a doubt this one will...

Saturdays game will be telling - If the team has desire and dedication, I would expect nothing less than crisp, high-energy, and well-executed game and BYU will get pounded.

An old saying: if you care more about the outcome that the person that controls it, you will be disappointed! Hope that our team cares as much as the fans.

No WAY this can ever be a "good thing"

We have a disorganized head coach who loafs on the sidelines like a sloth, and we have players who would rather tweet all day than give their all for Tennessee. I think this is going to be a disastrous season, perhaps worse than 2017. I really really really hope they prove me wrong, but these last three games dating back to last season have given me very little reason to believe that the light switch is just going to flip on all of a sudden.

I haven't given up quite yet either but I don't see anything positive.

We should have been playing our third string in the fourth quarter because we were up by 30 points. That would have been positive.

Also, chewing on bad things is bad for us (cats prefer to tear our prey's head off and eat it fast).

I made a comment that JG would be on the bench by the 3rd.....and not because he was sucking, but from the blowout Tennessee would be putting on Georgia State........that didn’t age well.

Also do you play with your food first.......you know since your a cat.

In my opinion, the worse loss in TN history! Rated the worst loss in the conference in over 40 years. It can't be taken back. It's there to get thrown at every TN fans face for who knows how long. It sucks a$$. Now, we can only move forward and hope for some pleasant surprises but with the effort I saw it's doubtful.

Fix the D, line up right, sell out on the run, make them 1 dimensional, get off the field on 3rd downs. Don't do that ...... forget it. Cause the offense can't reasonably score into the 30s with JG.

I can't agree with this--sorry, I just can't. Pruitt 'loafs' on the sideline, instead of what, running up and down the sideline? Absurd. A sloth? What a bunch of nonsense.

Players who would rather tweet than give their all? What proof do you have of this silliness, other than the game outcome? Back up your statements if you can.

You ever looked at Pruitt and his untucked, ugly smock?

Also, did you miss the entire thread on the Murphy tweet?
