Because Ole Miss won

You know it is partly killing Lane to not be part of the Ole Miss success even if he is banking some cash from the idiots at LSU. Ole Miss players despise the old boy now and Lane looks like the jerkwater fraudster he truly is on the outside looking in.

Sigh. Which one of their Children's Hospitals are they shutting down to give Kiffy the money?

While I previously really had no issues with the Tigers, if this all blows up in their face it would be GLORIOUS.

I'm talking getting beaten by D2 teams. Kiff getting busted with cross dressing prostitutes. The whole nine yards man. Let's go.

If it’s true that LSU is paying it, that’s their fault. But they are still paying off freaking Ed Orgeron and $50 million to Kelly so they obviously don’t care about throwing out ridiculous payments.

And I think it’s absolutely driving the Ole Miss team to ram it up his keister.

Wow. Just saw that "most" of the now LSU coaches who went back to Oxford to assist are now expected to return to Baton Rouge as the portal is opening today.

Charlie Weis Jr is apparently sticking around Oxford till it's over. I can respect that and will give him the benefit of the doubt for the rest of his coaching career. There is no replacement for honor at the end of the day folks.

Its not dumb at all. This literally happens in the private sector all the time... Especially in the sales world. A lot of people will wait out leaving jobs until year end so they can get their bonuses and then their performance bonuses..... However, if a new employer wants that person bad enough, the employee will simply ask them to pay out their performance bonuses they would get in exchange for leaving before the end of the year.

I personally don't understand the media and internet debate over this one thing being that big of a deal. Kiffin made LSU guarantee performance bonuses in exchange for coming right away. Simple

Weis Jr is the guy I'm shocked they didn't promote or offer the job to first. Golding and Joe Judge I don't think will last long.

But Weis Jr with Kiffin's leash last night called a wonderful game.

Honor. That’s something Kiffin has never had. He’s proven it time and again

You've got to wonder if this game would have had a different outcome if Kiffin had coached it. First, it was anybody's game down to the wire. One bad play call and the result would flip. No way Kiffin calls this game exactly as Golding did. The other is, as @Delmar said, this team is playing with an attitude now that the groom left the bride at the alter. Surely that's a nudge in the victory direction. I didn't see OM doing anything "conservative". Those long passes were a thing of beauty.

2026 a day old and Bama, OSU and Georgia out. Gotta say this brings me joy.

You are probably correct. Most of the time in a big game those stupid 4th down gambles catch up with you and I’m sure Lane would have messed something up. He always does.
