Checking Volnation.com- one of Tennessee's largest message boards- their fans are DEFINITELY looking completely past UC. You'll see a sane individual caution them all about one out of every ten posts not to look past Cincinnati. Hopefully their team is as arrogant as their fans are and they end up getting set on their ***** by the 'Cats. I expect a very competitive game. This is not Oklahoma. They are good but certainly not unbeatable. My main concern is how the 'Cats will handle adversity for the first time this season.

UT gave up 2 interceptions but they were called back for defensive interference.
If we face these kind of Ref's next week, we have no chance of winning.
UT 35
UC 24
I hope I'm wrong.

OK, I am ready to make my prediction. Please DO NOT consider me being "negative", but I can't forget what a friend of mine was told by a member of the officiating crew when UC played at UK back in the 1980's..... "SEC teams do NOT lose non-conference home games."

I hope UC put in the contract that it has to be a neutral ref crew, but I suspect not.

So, based upon my feeling it may well NOT be a fair game:

UT: 34
UC: 21

B.C.
P.S. If somebody can tell this board for sure it will be a neutral officiating crew, I am prepared to "update" my prediction.

Yeah, I would be cocky after a stellar victory over an fcs team that deserves to be a division or 2 lower.

Anyone whose seen me post knows I'm pretty objective and not too much of a homer, but I've never seen someone use the ref excuse before the game starts. Not to mention at least the second interception (didn't see a replay on the first one) was directly caused by pass interference, so not sure how they could say that was a bad call.

Collaros scares me. We should beat em pretty solidly, but Collaros is no joke.

Were the refs from the SEC? This should be a non issue for this Sat. GBO!!!

They're trying to figure out how Collaros is going to improve his free throw %.

Pushing the receivers down before the ball gets near them and they can make a play on it at all is an excellent way to defend a pass.

Additionally if you push a receiver down soon enough it gives you ample opportunity to make a play on the ball yourself and possibly get an interception.

Makes sense to me. All Montana was doing was thinking if the receiver isn't near the ball for whatever reason, they cant catch it. That's pretty sound logic. Not sure why the refs called penalties there.

i dont know a whole lot about their offense.... is it option run play mostly or do they air it out?

Yeah that second interference call was clear and for all we know Bray could have saw it and threw the ball that direction on purpose to pick up the call. Next level football right there.

Complaining about the refs before a game is a good way to feel better about your incoming loss

It's a pass first spread. They had Mardy Gilyard 2 years ago and now they have Armon Binns and some other good WRs. Thye wing it all over the yard. Their RB is very productive, but I believe it's product of the pass first system. Collaros is VERY dangerous. Quite athletic and elusive. He's a player. Don't sleep on him for a second.

I think you'll see a Pass/Run mix of 55/45. The scary thing about their spread is that Collaros is pretty quick and doesn't need an excuse to take off, which is what we have trouble defending.

how is collaros in the pocket?

I dunno...he doesn't spend much time there.

When Cincy made there run a couple of years ago, Collaros came in for the injured starter and the O got better. Cincy just hasn't been able to repeat the same success once the coach moved to ND. If he had stayed, we'd be in trouble this week.

You know you're dealing with a good bunch when the whining starts before the game.

Yeah, but here's the deal. The post was on their board. A Vol fan copied and pasted it here. As of today, UC aren't bothering us. I bet some Vol fan will go to their board and start something uninvited and probably that leads to some retaliation of some UC fans coming here to start mess or another.

Never trouble trouble, until trouble troubles you.
