this has probably been discussed in the dixon thread, but i just didn't feel the need to read that whole thing.....:p

but it's now obvious that the winner of the big 12, whether it be an undefeated KS, or a 1 loss Mizzou or OK has the inside track to meeting LSU in hte title game.........

that is if LSU makes it out of the next 3 games.....:)

If LSU loses at any point.....then it opens up the door for a several teams......maybe a 1 loss OSU big 10 champ? maybe a 1 loss WVU Big East champ? Maybe an ASU 1 loss Pac 10 Champ?

i think at this point in this season, we are about as close to a nuclear meltdown of the BCS as we've ever been, and given how this season has gone so far....it may not be out of the realm of possibities for it to happen.

think of the possibilities that do exist.....KS loses to ISU, LSU loses to ARK and the SEC title game, ASU loses to USC, OK loses the big 12 title game......WVU loses to UConn.......of course that's a lot to happen....but with 3 weeks basically left in the season......i think it's safe to say that there is a lot of football left to be played.......

many will say this is why there should be a playoff......but i still contend........look around.......we're in single elimination playoffs RIGHT NOW........and it is awesome.........

my prediction.......OK vs. LSU in the title game.......but that could change, again, by Sunday. i love college football.

amen. the BCS makes the regular season so much more important than any sport. I will not buy into the fact that a playoff series could keep it this exciting.

Jake, its not that you didn't want to read the Dixon/Oregon Thread, its that you wanted your own thread! MERGE! :p

What is the possiblity of OU, Kansas, and Missouri staying in the top 3? I'm not sure who all plays who, KS and Missouri, was wondering about those teams playing in the NC together and if it is possible. Of course LSU would have to lose and they stand a chance of losing, they have shown that they are beatable as long as the opposing team keeps their lead.

I would not like to see WVU in the national champ game nor any other big east team for that matter. I will be rooting for any of WVU's opponents left, thats for sure. I also don't care to see OSU jump back up into the mix.

Cincy will beat them tomorrow night. Go Bearcats!

slim. Mizzou and KS play each other next weekend for the right to see who plays OK in the Big 12 title game.

the likely scenario is you're going to have a 1 loss OK, a 1 loss Mizzou or an undefeated KS team come out of the big 12 conf. and given where all three are currently ranked, i don't see how any winner of the big 12 doesn't go to the title game.

the wrench gets thrown in to things if LSU loses at some point. there are 3 one loss teams ranked 6, 7 and 8 behind those 3 big 12 teams. ASU, OSU and WVU.

ASU has AZ and USC left, OSU has Mich and WVU has Pitt and Uconn. If LSU loses:

ASU needs to win out..., OSU to likely lose, and they may have the strongest case to play the big 12 winner..regardless of what WVU does.

OSU needs to beat Mich, and they are playing the Big 12 winner for the title, probably regardless of what WVU and ASU do.

for WVU...they have to win out, in impressive fashion, and they likely need LSU, OSU and ASU to lose.

for there to be an all big 12 NT game, that would take a lot to happen.......OSU, LSU, ASU, WVU would all have to lose.......and even then, it would probalby only have a chance of happening if there is a 1 loss KS team sitting there. I don't see Mizzou getting in unless they win the big 12 outright, which meand they have to beat KS and OK. KS could lose to Mizzou, have only one loss and by attrition, be the only one loss team left available.....but that's highly unlikely.

but then you might have consider a 2 loss USC team (Pac 10 champ) or 2 loss LSU team(esp if it's a 2 loss SEC Champ), at that point as well......if all that were to happen.

it's insane isn't it Jake, still lots of football to play though it does look like a big 12 opponent will go to the NC.

yes it is......and i love it. so much left to do.....LSU/ARK, OSU/Mich, ASU/USC, ASU/AZ, KS/MIzzou, Big 12 title game, SEC title game......

a lot can still happen.......and i can't wait to see it all unfold......

Thanks for the info. I guess it is going to be sucky to be a fan of one of those teams because they could easily get shafted, just which one(s) is the question. Time will tell!

This is quite interesting, who you thought would go to the NC is not going to happen anymore, changes every week! Makes it quite exciting!

could you imagine Kansas, a school known for hoops gets into the NC and wins the whole darn thing, that would be wild.

it's hard to get shafted when each of these teams in the top 4 basically control their own destiny the rest of the way. if LSU wins out, they're in. the three teams in the big 12, all play each other....if any of hte three win out, they're in.......no way to get shafted when it's in your hands and no one else's.......

disappointed for losing, sure, but nobody can claim be shafted, unless one of those other scenarios plays out and you have OSU, ASU and WVU sitting there all with one loss and a decision has to be made about which one is "more deserving", then one of them could definitely feel shafted.......

an Arizona State though could feel shafted if they win out and don't make the title game compared to a one loss Big XII team. tOSU has to know it's their fault though. Scheduling the Ohio teams instead of a decent OOC schedule kills them now.

I think we do need a playoff. It eliminates the teams that play in weak conferences, and weak OOC games.

kind of like Ap. st. and colorado?

we're in the middle of a playoff right now...and it's great.

that's happening right now. 3 of the top 5 will play each other the next two weeks.
