BCS Bowl Still in Range?

7-3... and LSU dominated play every bit as much as Arkansas did. That is exactly what happened whether you want to carry on your delusion or not. Auburn was looking ahead to UF. Arkansas certainly took it to them... but you're a fool if you think you got Auburn's best game.

Best game or not the record shows a 17 point win on the road.

Arkansas vs. Texas is always a close game. Remember our last series a few years back...people said that we didn't have the talent back then either but we went 1-1. Should have one both games.
You aren't comparing to those teams. Those teams went O-fer against OU. Texas is one of the 2 or 3 most talented teams in the country right now. Arkansas isn't one of the top 3 most talented teams in the SEC.
But that is neither here nor there.
That's the one accurate thing you've written.
Texas has beaten OU and Nebraska...but come on OU is weak and Nebraska isn't so hot either.
Texas has played about as good of a schedule as Arkansas. Who have you beaten besides Auburn? SEMO? La Monroe? Bama?

Let's put it this way, OU would have beaten anyone that you've beaten except for maybe Auburn. Texas probably would've beaten everyone you've beaten and maybe even USC.

BTW, USC beat you all much worse than they beat Nebraska at home. Nebraska was at least game.

And we play LSU at home.
Won't make any difference. If LSU doesn't choke, you lose... and probably bad.

LSU is probably the most talented team from top to bottom in the country. They are by far the most talented in the SEC.

Not in the Top 3 talented teams in the SEC? Our record says different. You aren't going to convince me that going 5-0 in the SEC is the same as going 5-0 in the Big 12...a la Texas. USC was only up by 10 at half if I remember correctly. Would have been a better game if McFadden wasn't hurt and we didn't play Johnson at QB, but that can't be changed now. And USC has looked really weak the past month (Oregon State).

Because their record really shows that...

I don't know what your record says about talent levels, but Auburn, Florida, and LSU are the most talented teams in the SEC, with LSU out in front in my estimation.

EDIT: When did this thread become about Arkansas?

When some guys were talking about the Cotton Bowl and someone said something about whether they take an East or West team. And I simply said the Cotton Bowl generally takes a West team. And then someone said something along the lines of...you should know because that is where you are going this year. And so I defended my team.

I said that we could possibly go to the National Title. And I stated the facts of how we possibly get there. And that is all that you can say? Do you have factual information to back that up?

I'll bet my scenario happens and yours does not. That is enough fact for me.

No it doesn't. You have one quality win in conference against a team that was looking ahead.

But I didn't say you needed top 3 talent to win. You can win the conference with mid-pack talent if you gel and get some breaks.

However, if a greatly talented team plays to potential they beat a mid-pack team... and that's the way it will go with you and LSU.
You aren't going to convince me that going 5-0 in the SEC is the same as going 5-0 in the Big 12...a la Texas.
And you aren't going to convince anyone who doesn't wear one of those stupid looking plastic pigs on their head that Texas isn't a much more talented football team than Arkansas.
USC was only up by 10 at half if I remember correctly.
And that makes it better?

Some other Hog fans said something about playing with what you have. BTW, you helped me prove my point about coaching.
And USC has looked really weak the past month (Oregon State).
Which really doesn't help you guys at all... or the SEC as a whole if you do in fact win the conference. The Pac10 and their media fans will say "See there, a weak Pac10 team beat the best team in the SEC". For that reason alone, I'd like to see Arkansas lose out. Nothing in particular against the Hogs... they're just making the SEC look bad.

"See there, a weak Pac10 team beat the best team in the SEC".
This can easily be combatted with the 4th or 5th (depending on the result of Saturday's game) best team in the SEC crushing the Pac Ten champions, assuming Cal defeats Southern Cal and avoids any hiccups.

i must admit a little bias for the cotton...living in the dfw area gives me a chance to see the vols in action....weather can be fickle...i sat on a sheet of ice watching us get abused by kansas st and two years ago we torched tex a/m under cloudy skies and balmy 65 degrees.

I was also at the Cotton ice bowl setting on ice.

I think its possible if we beat the Hog's eyes in. Not just win, but win by 35...that and our potential fan following with fan $ might be enough.

Hey, if Arkansas wins out, they could make the National Championship.

If Louisville loses.

And Texas.

And Notre Dame.

And Cal and Southern Cal.

And Michigan probably has to get blown out.

Check the first one of that list. :)

"if Arkansas wins out"

That's a big IF for a team which beat Bama by 1 and Vandy by 2, with LSU still on the schedule.

man one good season and people will make a bronze statue of Houston Nutt in Arky with McFadden cradled in his arms. If LSU takes McFadden out of the game they will win. And by out I do not mean injured. That is the best defense that Arky will face all year

If your Offense can put up 24 points on them I think that we will be just fine.

But they have something we don't -----run defense, and with one good receiver the option to throw will be limited

Arkansas had a week to prepare a very confusing package for a freshman quarterback, and did a good job of keeping him confused and out of rhythm all night.

LSU also has much better offensive and defensive lines than the ones you saw at Tennessee.

I don't quite know how to project McFadden into that game, as the line play will have a lot to do with how much of a difference maker he can be, but before you start booking your NCG trip, just consider that LSU has a very, very good team.

Our situation gets better every week.

Yes it does.
