I know it's really early. But with Negedu's commitment and Rocky Top League sparking some early summer bball talk, I want to get folks' thoughts on who might start and see significant mins. next season.

To me, first and second teams are:

1 - Maze / West
2 - Hopson / Tabb
3 - Tatum / Prince
4 - Smith / Negedu
5 - Chism / Williams

I could see Tyler shifting to the 3, Chism to the 4 and Williams to the 5 for a bigger lineup. I don't see Childress getting many minutes. From what I hear of Jurick, it'd do him good to learn for a year. I think we'd benefit greatly from Tabb's experience and toughness on D. Woolridge might earn some PT, but I think we'll need Negedu's muscle down low more than what Woolridge would bring to the team.

Maze/West
Hopson/Tabb
Prince/Tatum
Smith/Childress
Chism/Williams

it's a shame Tabb won't be starting. I've never see a guy on a team except his role better and do what is asked of him and no complain about it and transfer. probably my favorite guy on the team

prince isn't as good as Tatum. Not to mention he won't be able to work out all summer while Cam can.

Childress with his recent injury and attitude issues last season, wont be playing much this upcoming season

So you are saying Negedu is going to RS and we're only going to have 2 big men in the rotation?

There is a ridiculous amount of talent on this team. It's hard to cut it off at just 9 - 10 guys. I have a feeling that's a problem that CBP is glad to have, though.

steven and childress are good guys but they are players that were pre-pearl era players. good for us he has just raised stakes and talent level so much they dont belong here if they want to play. I have nothing against them but they could get playing time somewhere else. We cant even use them for givin people a break. we are on the way to doin like chapel hill play the bench and accidently still run up score. Good prob to have.

I think:

Maze/West/Prince
Hopson/Tatum/Tabb
Smith/Prince/Tatum
Chism/Negedu/Childress
Williams/Chism/Childress

(11 will see action, with Childress and Tabb seeing the least)

Jurick & Woolridge redshirt
SPearl ... passes out gatorade.

Childress was actually the very 1st recruit that Pearl signed at UT. He was a guy that signed with UWM that decided to become a VOL upon Pearl leaving UWM.

If Childress could play like he did in the 2007 NCAA Tourney he deserves playing time. That guy hit like 5 threes against Ohio State, and in the games before that he scored 15 points-ish. He's not a bad player, he's just not as athletic as the rest of the team, which makes him look slower.

:lolabove:pearl jr. comment, just priceless. its sad thinking about tabb at the bottom of the pecking order in the lineups. he's so good defensively....sigh....if you think long enough about the talent we have on this team your head may explode.
