Not sure if this has been gone over yet but this is what I figure next year's SEC opponents should look like

Play twice:
Vandy
Miss St
LSU
USC
Ark

Home:
Aub
Bama
UK
T A&M

Away:
UGA
Florida
Ole Miss
Mizzou

I know there have been some people talking 14 or 15 wins total for the season but I honestly can find 9-12 SEC wins out of that SEC slate. If UT can get to 11 wins in a mediocre SEC then 20 wins may not be that far fetched.

I've said this before and I'll say it again Tennessee will lose at least 1 home game I say 1-2 home loses and about 3 road loses sec finals and sweet 16

13-5? That's a tall order for a flipped coaching staff and roster.

I can't pencil in 11 SEC wins. I'm seeing more like 8/9. I'm thinking our OOC schedule will be a little tougher than what we have seen the last few years also. Just too many unknowns til we see them on the court.

This is why people are constantly disappointed in how our teams do. Let's go ahead and fire up the "Fire CDT" thread while we're at it.

A little optimistic I know but if the team can gel quick they could certainly do it will be one of the most athletic teams in history here at ut and after seeing mostella play last year he reminds me a lot of wiggins athletically I'm not saying we go 13-5 but it wouldn't surprise me

Well being one of those who initially said 15 wins, after the job CDT has done to stabilize the roster 20 is now closer to my prediction

He reminds you of one of the most athletic athletes we have seen in a while. Someone who has a 44" vertical lol? Wow I was thinking MJ or bust.

Making overall predictions now is dumb with 1. Not seeing the OOC schedule.
2. Not seeing a single minute of these players playing together.
3. Not even knowing for sure if McKnight and Mostella are going to be on the team and stay on it.
4. Not having a true pg.

Just have no expectations at all going into next season and enjoy it. It's going to be fun but don't expect too much. Because when you set the bar to x amount of wins that's when you become disappointed with the coach. We certainly have the talent for 20 wins but wins come from team chemistry and I need to see that first before I pencil in 20 wins. Talent means nothing without team chemistry.

I'm excited about the rebuilding process with CDT. That being said, I'm thinking we will finish middle of the road SEC and maybe make some noise in the NIT. All we know is that J Rich is gonna be good and Armani should develop more and play great defense. Hubbs III is a ? and so are all these new players. They also have to learn to play together and that could take half a season. Let's temper our expectations

I'm not really pencilling in 11 wins. I just think this team can get there whereas a month or so ago it looked like UT wasn't going to have 8 scholarship players let alone SEC wins. 9 wins would be a reasonable expectation at this point.

I personally would be very happy with a NIT berth with this team. Considering we have a new coach and possibly 8 new players, making the NIT would be a good year.

Not trying to project the whole season. Just looking at the SEC portion. (But thanks for pointing out it was dumb). As far as expectations, I don't think it's really humanly possible to be a fan of a team and not have some type of expectations.

I'm not sure I would be very happy with an NIT berth but I understand your point. It's just hard to not set the NCAA's as the goal in my mind.

Well he's already Russ as a freshman, MJ is totally achievable by his senior year. Lol

This has nothing to do with your post, I was just curious your thought. If you had the #1 pick this yr. would you take Wiggins?

Here's the thing...we might lose only two games all season, win the SEC, and make the Final Four next year. OR, we might win only two games, get knocked out in the first round of the SEC tourney. OR, anything in between.

Point being, who knows until it happens? I think we'd all love to know in advance, but as we see every year in the tournament, and as we saw with last year's Kentucky team that was supposed to be better (even our team for that matter), college basketball is very unpredictable. I think that's the beauty of it, the excitement. So we may have a awesome or terrible year next year, just go along with it and try to enjoy the ride. :peace2:
