Are you kidding????? Memphis absolutely blew Georgetown out of the building saturday and they are still ranked #8. I remember years ago it was the Goergetown thing in basketabll kinda like Notre Dame in football. I really enjoyed Memphis kicking their sorry A$$ on saturday!

I think we need to play with a little more consistency, but like everyone says there is a tourney at season's end.

It depends.

Hibbert was a no-show against Memphis. If he played that poorly against the Vols, I'd take Tennessee in a matchup with the Hoyas.

There is a reson for that. Hibbert was a no show because of Dorsey. Hibbert is a good player.

Ditto. I think the Vols would need a Dorsey-like player OR (and this is more likely) try and run the crap out of the guy. Memphis did both IMO.

EDIT: Even though they did get blown out at the end, they were hanging with the #2 team in front of, arguably, the loudest crowd that Memphis has produced in years. That is my thinking anyway.

It was very loud inside there. It took me forever it seem like to get out of that place.

It was pretty bad since all 18K+ were exiting at the same time but this Saturday is going to be worse IMO. That many people dumping off onto Beale Street at 11pm.

Texas absolutely blew out Tennesee at a neutral site, and I don't think anyone thinks Texas is better than Memphis.

Very true, but a blowout to Memphis at home in front of almost 19,000 is much different than getting blown out by Texas in New Jersey.

GT was a complete no show as a team Saturday. I think the pollsters realize it was a bad game and give them the benefit of the doubt. Another loss and they will tumble in the meaningless polls.

As for Hibbert Saturday. Dorsey deserves some credit, but I believe I could have shut down Hibbert Saturday. His general demenor is quiet, but that dude was sleep walking. That was about as poorly prepared top ten team I've seen this season.

Georgetown would win; by 20 at GT; by 15at neutral site; by 10 at TBA.

The 2 time National Champion Gators should have won by 10 at TBA the last 2 years also.

Elite 8 Memphis Tigers should have won by 10 last year at TBA.

Texas with Durant should have won by 10 at TBA.

I don't think its fair to say who would win where...I'm saying that #8 is fair for Georgetown and I have no problem with them ranked that high. A road loss to arguably the top team in the country doesn't mean that they aren't a top team. Remember they were a final four team last season, and lost only Jeff Green (I shouldn't say "only"). To think the Vols should be ranked ahead of Georgetown makes no sense. That doesn't mean one team is necessarily better than the other, I just don't think anyone can justify the UT being ranked ahead of G'Town.

Georgetown has some players and are very good defensively, but as Hibbert goes, so go the Hoyas. He has never been particularly assertive and is not a night in - night out ype of player. That alone makes G'town beatable on any given night. Their offensive system and defensive focus offset that to some degree.
