They chose not, however, to report on the intentional grounding missed call in regulation which would have eliminated the need for overtime, period. The entire day that crew screwed the pooch.

It's gotten bad over the past few years, to the point you can't help but think they're trying to help a team win sometimes. They need to change something to where if a bad call decides a game, and can be proven, then the win is nullified. Maybe that'll change something. Foolish thought I know, but it is bad.

It seems like it’s getting worse for both college and the NFL. I’m not sure what the cause is, but something needs to be done. In some ways I like the idea of being able to challenge any penalty, but it would probably make the games drag on forever and the NFL hasnt overturned any pi calls this year as far as I know. So I don’t know if it would change much.

It's sort of a slippery slope kind of thing though; I mean yes a bad call near the end seems like a no-brainer to declare "That lost the game" but then people can point to say a missed call before the half that cost the other team a TD or something.

I think what makes the officiating getting worse is replays and supposed accountibility has increased yet it's not getting better. Plus there seems to be no flow or reason; some games they seem like they throw a flag every other play, and other games it's like they aren't even watching.

I'll say this though as bad it's gotten, IMO it's still nowhere near as bad as college basketball officiating. BB officiating has almost made me stop watching because of how utterly terrible it is, and they do even less to fix it. And college basketball officials has some in their ranks that do it for the attention (I'm looking at you TV Teddy). But that's another discussion that we'll have in about 3 months.

I agree, many times you can look back before the game ending call and name several bad ones. Also agree on basketball, it's every layup or dunk now they blow the whistle. I swear it's just habit because I've seen many times where the defense never got close to touching someone, but they'd still call a foul.

The biggest problems I have with basketball is the lack of consistency, and that IMO the officiating is so heavily influenced by either the home crowd and/or when one of the teams is a blue blood. But mostly lack of consistency. It's one thing if a crew decides they are going to either call it tight or let them play from the start of the game, but I've seen way too many games where they will switch up during the game. Suddenly they start calling fouls that 5 minutes ago they weren't. Or they start letting them play street rules when 10 minutes ago they were calling hand checks. It's maddening as a fan and I can only imagine as a player/coach it is infuriating.

Interesting that Tech didn't include that play in their highlight video.

How in the hell, with the **** that school has been wrapped up in, can they be 7-0. Others manage to survive struggle, but UT can’t dig out of the hole.

Dead center in one of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country. Rhule and staff also have strong recruiting ties in Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. They identify the kids they want early in the process and lock them down.

Tennessee has finished higher in recruiting in 2016 2017,and 2018 which would be the best indicator of success in 2019. So, you’re wrong. I’d dare say the schedule is easier.

When Rhule came to Baylor he kept saying "trust the process" and then proceeded to lose his first game (at home) to Liberty...trust the process my arse. After stints at Temple and now Baylor it appears "the process" works. There's a proven record.

Temple:

1st year 2-10
2nd year 6-6
3rd year 10-4
4th year 10-3

Baylor:

1st year 1-11
2nd year 7-6
3rd year 7- 0 thus far
4th ??? Veteran team returning

Coaching ability plays a large part also. Rhule's staff is loaded with NFL experience and their ability to develop talent is showing. Have the last several UT staffs developed the talent to it's full potential?

I know we all have a personal stake in this, and the SEC refs are our refs...But I'm a college football junkie and I swear to you those Pac-12 refs are the ABSOLUTE dirt worst I've ever seen and it's consistent...They are consistently terrible.
