anybody else tried the demo yet? Comes out next week and I guess COD 4 has just spoiled me with the graphics and gameplay..but BF is ok..debating on whether to get it or not.

my kid has the demo of Bad Company, and while it's certainly no COD4, it has an undeniable sense of humor that COD4 is lacking (although there's nothing wrong with that). Graphically, the demo looks pretty good.

there's just something about smiley faces on the grenade pins...

I played the demo this morning.

Good:

The environment. You can blow up, knock down, and utterly destory anything. Houses, trees, vehicles, etc. A wall is in your way? Knock a hole through it. A punk sniper is popping shots at you in a house. Level the whole damn house! It's pretty neat.

The Bad

COD4 still makes this game look like it belongs on the PS2. I'm very unimpressed with the graphics. They are ok, but they are not COD4.

I have it on my gamefly list, have not played the demo. I liked COD4, but can't wait for GOW 2 (real shocker there I know).

No worries, you can ditch COD for gears now

Speaking of GOW, I finally got my hands on a copy 2 days ago.

It's badass!! (But everyone knows that already)
:)

I know if I get online, I'm going to get my butt handed to me.

You need to play with Larkin and Freak. I will be on later. As for the demo, I just downloaded it. Will give it a whirl later.

I played the single player campaign for about 4 hours yesterday. Fun stuff. It's pretty easy since dying really has no consequences, but it's still fun working your way through. The dialog between the characters is fairly entertaining. Some might find it a bit juvenile; just try and have fun with it.

Haven't been online yet (full release or demo). Might try it tonight.

It was released on the internet about a week ago. I skipped grabbing it because the reviews I read were so awful. I also wasn't impressed with the 2 or 3 gameplay movies I watched at gametrailers.

So, I doubt I'll be playing that one anytime soon, if ever. Sorry.

Everything I've read said there's some cool stuff in the game (Alone/Dark), but the controls are terrible and there's some gameplay mechanics that bring it down. Sounds like a great rental to me. Post your impressions after it arrives. If you dig it, I might have to look at it myself.

Obviously IGN isn't the end all be all of reviews, but they gave Alone in the Dark a downright impressive 3.5 review. Ouch! They did not have nice words for the game.
