I live in Bristol and own a campground right across the street from the Speedway. They are able to sit 165000 in the stands but are also looking at the possability of adding temporary seating on the front and back straitaways and will be putting temporary seating in the endzones. They are calling these seats the battlefield and they are $400 a pop. The addition of those will take it to around 190,000. Should know in a couple of weeks if they have enough interest to do this so as of now they have sold around 150,000.

I'm thinking somewhere between 80 and 100 thousand will actually attend.

I believe this will be a major flop and disappointment.

Blue font needed I'm thinking they will find a way to add another 10-15K, so I'd guess 170,000 total. Regardless, this is going to be a nationally televised event in primetime, so we'll get so much attention it's not even funny. I hope Butch has lined up the top recruits in the country to "visit" during this weekend. Could you imagine a kid saying no to an offer after attending a game like this?

Interest in Tennessee football is higher than it has been in a decade, we are poised for a true breakout season, numerous media outlets are already projecting us as a top-10 team going into 2016, and Butch Jones has been hyping this game from the day it was announced. Given the prolonged drought this program has emerged from, the timing for this event could not be better. Attendance should be well above 150,000.

The buzz around here for this game is out of this world. Tens of thousands of folks showed up for the local open sales alone. They were turning thousands away from the gates by 7 am. They only had about 10,000 tickets left before it sold out and they had enough in line by 7 am. The folks in front of me were from Maryland, the ones behind me came all the way from Washington state. I've had several folks offer me ridiculous amounts for one of mine. I'd venture to say you're wrong.

Now if they try to repeat it I would be inclined to agree with you especially if Tennessee wasn't involved. But I think this is a one time deal.

Live in Bristol close to BMS. 165,000 permanent seats. Do not underestimate owner Bruton Smith or the local staff at BMS. They have done some neat things in the past. Would not surprise me at all if this thing went to 200k.Bristol also does a great job of contra-flowing traffic for these big events.The main exit off I-81 to BMS is currently being double laned as well. Local planning teams will have a traffic flow plan and will be shared with the public as this event gets near. As other posts have said park somewhere so you are headed out in the north/south direction you need to be afterwards. Volunteer Parkway (yes real name of road), runs in front of BMS. All kinds of business, residential churches all turn in to 10-20$ parking lots in addition to all of the huge parking/camping areas around the speedway. BMS also owns a huge fleet of shuttle vehicles, and will be bringing in extra as needed. Good Times!

Thankfully I know back roads to get back home to NC. I used to camp at Shadracks for the race.
