Little brother gets a bone tossed his way....

The University of Tennessee and UT-Chattanooga men's basketball programs have reached an agreement to play four times in the next five seasons.
Tennessee will play in McKenzie Arena on Dec. 4 this year with the Mocs returning to play in Knoxville in the 2008-09 season.

Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl, embarking on his third year with the Volunteers, said he's pleased to be adding to the history between UT and UTC.
"You just try to do the right things," Pearl said. "The fact that Tennessee played the first game ever there was significant. (We want) to try to honor both programs and the success that both programs have enjoyed over the years by being able go back and help them with their celebration."

"We realize there aren't a lot of SEC schools that are going on the road playing Southern Conference teams, but I just think we're committed to playing Tennessee basketball throughout the state," Pearl said. "We're playing in Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville. We'll be playing in Murfreesboro at some point, and now we'll be playing in Chattanooga. It's just the right thing to do.

With the exception of the money that will be generated for the Mocs, and the chance for us Scenic City Vol fans to make a five minute drive to see the Big Orange, making this game does very little that is positive for the Vols.

I'm not complaining about the chance to see the boys play here. Realistically though, this is a date that could've held a much more appealing matchup.
