Tell that to the last two Dream Teams who had problems in the Olympics. Chances are they are playing international rules which are so much different.

are you serious? you think those so called "Dream Teams" loaded with no-shootin driver first swing men lost because of the tenacious D being played by the Euros. Please, the Euros zoned them up like every respectable coach with the opportunity would. Our lack of D and pathetic shooting doomed us. UT can shoot the 3 and against those slow footed zones, I would expect an athlete like Chism to offensive board almost at will. Don't know the particulars, but just don't like a stat line that shows 4 points from our "middle presence" when we're scoring 100 per game.

Maybe we were working someone else there? Or are planning on using someone else there

we're definitely trying some things as evidences by the PT for guys who have no business getting any, but Chism needs the exposure, so I can't imagine that we're sitting him (unless he's in foul trouble)

I just think they were complacent b/c they were blowing everyone out thus far. Plus, the amount of games they've played in a short amount of time may be catching up to them not to mention all the sightseeing and vists to hospitals. They've probably had little to no down time.

That's what I was wondering? It's one thing to play in a blowout but to play in a close game it's quite shocking. Maybe it was because we were in foul trouble or Bruce was just trying to rest some people.

He's not an SEC caliber player, but it's nice that hes able to contribute. Against SEC competition though he would get beat up pretty badly. Not trying to criticize him though, he's been playing great over there.

Tyler Smith, JP Prince, Cameron Tatum, and Brian Williams didn't make the trip. Add that to our up tempo style and close defense and we could easily be fatigued and/or in foul trouble without playing every available body.

So it looks like he's got a job out of college playing in europe with his buddy bradshaw

alright that makes sense so what are the chances Pearl plays .... 5-10 minutes next year

Ive never seen the guy play. i only know him from being the coach's son. How has he been scoring in Europe? Layups? 3s?

I don't think he plays much. This team is already deep:

Ramar Smith
Jordan Howell
Chris Lofton
Josh Tabb
Jujuan Smith
Cameron Tatum
JP Prince
Tyler Smith
Duke Crews
Wayne Chism
Ryan Childress
Brian Williams
Steven Pearl

Williams and Tatum could RS, but that would still be 10 deep ahead of him.

I really don't see Pearl playing unless we're in foul trouble or have some injuries or the game is already decided.

yeah it makes sense he'll have the same role this year as last..

I got all the VASF info for next year's bball season today and will be down in knox for the Arkansas football game so i plan to go to the UT - temple bball game friday night. Does anyone know the seating chart for "the new" TBA or when/how hard is it going to be to get tickets for temple?

I don't think SPearl plays anywhere near 5-10 minutes next year, but mainly because of depth. I don't know why everybody has to bust on him, though. While not great (or necessarily of SEC-starting caliber), the guy isn't terrible. He's strong, hustles nonstop, plays good defense, and gets a lot of garbage points. I've definitely seen worse (or more useless) on our squad in the past (e.g., Justin "All-Brick").

Plus, he's a walk-on -- so he doesn't take up a scholly.
