Basketball Time In Tennessee?

I'm more excited about football rather than basketball personally. Nothing would ever change that either. Football was my first love

im just as excited about both.. but one thing that i have noticed is that the excitement for bball has sort of taken the pressure off of Fulmer, sure we hear a criticism about CPF every now and then but i think if we still had the same bball program we had 4 years ago i think CPF would really be hearing it from the fans and possibly run out of town within the next few years if he doesnt meet fans' expectations.. so i think Phil owes Pearl a THANK YOU! :)

It's not even up for debate with me. Basketball season can't get here soon enough. The Fulmer Federation will just keep me occupied until November arrives again.

"So my advice to all Big Orange fans, warm up those vocal cords, with football, men's basketball and the Lady Vols all primed to thrill the fans, "Rocky Top" will be echoing throughout Tennessee well into 2008. Go Vols and Lady Vols."

HECK YEAH!!!

Bruce is the man! I never thought I would hear this from another Tennessee fan. I still have to lean towards football though. I think the NCAA needs to start a stock car racing series. Couldn't you see all the bumping from the UT and Bama car? We would put their a$$ in the wall. :)

...what is everyone going to do if Pearl pulls a "saban" and bails after a few years?

he won't. He talks about loyalty all the time, and he wants to build a basketball dynasty at UT. He has already said that he doesn't like the pros and wouldn't even consider coaching there so that's out of the question. Also a lot of schools aren't willing to change their style of play.

yeah but money talks. if a school like UCLA or someone wants to pay him some major bucks, I think he'd leave...and I can't blame him

ahh..u cant for sure say "he wont" I doubt he will either...but its never out of the question. Cause the more he succeeds at UT, the more ppl are going to try to get him.

i dont think Pearl will leave, i mean he has built a great thing at UT and a few years from now he will be established as a top 3 coach in the SEC and possibly top 10 in the country, and plus he already said that the NBA doesnt fit his style of coaching and he doesnt think he would last long in the NBA because his style allows him to have success at the college level but he doesnt feel that he would have that same sort of success at the Prol level

I was not talking Pro..i was more less talking about a major program like UCLA, Duke, etc..if the positions came open and the price was right. I think TN would pay up for Pearl...but I dont know how much up. I forsee a raise after this year :)

i really dont think he would do that. for one he has brought up UT from s*&t to sugar and then you have to think if you're UCLA, would he bolt them if say Kentucky or Duke were to offer him more money?

ok, i get what ur saying, but i dont think he would leave for a situation like that unless the school were able to double the max amount of money Mike Hamilton offered him to stay

If Mike Hamilton lets Bruce go, he would be out of a job. No way Pearl goes anywhere for a long long time.
