temple, xavier, and gonzaga are really catchey games....should be very exciting to see them play tenn...W's would help tenn greatly for the tourny in these games...L's wouuldnt hurt too much...so i'd agree that it was a great scheduling effort by tenn
Temple is mediocre, at best. UT will annihilate them.

I agree, but I wish we would have started the season against a terrible team so we wouldn't have to open the regular season against them, but we should have our way with them anyway.

I like the Temple game, because it is a team that we should easily handle, but they'll still look decent in the boxscore, especially that early in the season, because of their "name."

And it will provide an interesting pre-game story b/c this will be the first mtg since their 1973 game (total of 17 pts scored). Just a wee bit different than the scores Bruce's teams put up.

Check out the location for the Mississippi State game...

Can't wait for the games to get started, even if I'll have to miss the majority of the weekend games.

FWIW: I noticed, when comparing schedules, that there are four straight games, beginning Feb. 9, in which the Vols and Gators play at the same time. One of the four UT games is not on TV. The other three games are all on LF Sports, as are all four UF games. Why does LF insist on splitting coverage? It looks like they will be doing that more often this year. I'd rather them pick a game and allow somebody else to pick up the other game, like FSN on Saturday nights. LF has also sometimes done doubleheaders on Wednesdays. That way, the entire south gets every televised game.

Agreed. I just wish they would have been able to schedule another formidable OOC opponent to the home slate (besides OSU). Does anybody know if Gonzaga will play us in Nashville or Knoxville next season? I'm thinking it will be Nashville, but I can't confirm that yet.

I also wish that they could've added another quality non-conference opponent to the home schedule. The addition of Temple was o.k. , because at least there is a little name recognition that goes along with Temple basketball, but I sure don't see them being a team of importance nationally right now. Plus, with the momentum of being a likely top-10 team to open the season and with the renovations to the arena, I just think it would've been good for the fans to get a chance to see another big-time team in TBA this year. Unless you are really into Tennessee Basketball or college basketball in general, the home schedule between Temple and the start of the SEC schedule won't be perceived as "must see". Overall, a good schedule though, and I'm pleased with the amount of games on CBS & ESPN.
