Thats good to hear, although we need to learn how to play better defense, play defense with more intensity and develope a press that would stop a Mack truck.

I have complete faith in Pearl that things will be fixed. This could be the type of team that a loss would not be a bad thing.

I think beating a suprisingly good WV team helped us a little...nevertheless the polls don't matter much...

forget the no respect card. How about the "we ain't ever gonna win big games if you lazy, self-absorbed types don't get down and play some D for each other" card?

good point. I'm embracing what Hat heard in Newark - the fat cats need to play like alley cats.

Hey Big Papa, who do you think are the biggest culprits of playing lazy and self absorbed?

Ramar stands out above the rest. He could be the best defender in the SEC based upon his strength and quickness, but just won't make the effort. JuJuan gambles incessantly and makes some steals, but other than that, plays no D whatsoever. Lofton really can't play great D. I have yet to see Tyler really try to play D and I'm not sure Chism knows how.

D is a concerted 5 man effort because 1 guy can sink the ship at any point. We'll continue to be inconsistent until we make it a team focus. Seems to me that some of the guys are very concerned with the box score rather than the final score. Only takes a couple of those to kill a team.

Agree about Ramar. I've never seen JuJuan as lazy though. I think Lofton's D is better than he gets credit for. Chism has a tendency to fall asleep and commit stupid fouls away from the basket. I haven't really had reason to question Tyler's D, though I'll look more closely now.

I'd love to see Tabb and Childress get more minutes. Those are two alley cats.

I don't see JuJuan as lazy. I just don't see him focused on stopping the opponent. He wants to make the opportunistic steal and if that doesn't happen pretty early in the shot clock, he's just going through the motions.

TSmith could be a stout defender, but just isn't very aggressive about it.

I can't see our guys playing like they do now for a Bob Knight. He would throw chairs constantly.

I'm still concerned by our inside play (or lack thereof). Crews and Chism seem to have trouble finishing inside unless they are wide open. Sometimes they have problems even when they are wide open, especially Crews.

Chism seem too content to shoot from outside. I was hoping to see more form Tyler Smith from the inside but I do not see that being his game either. I think Williams seems the most comfortable scoring from the low post.

I think we will be inconsistant until we can successfully address the inside game and free throw shooting. They are essential in winning close games and providing points when the outside shooting is having an off night.
