Basketball in Bama/Beware Mike Gotfried

The radio talk shows are sizzling with anti-Gotfried histeria here in Alabama, primarily fueled by none other than UT grad Paul Finebaum, who was very instrumental in getting rid of another Mike coach at the Capstone recently. This comes on the heels of a rout at Auburn last night.

Can you believe they are calling for their head basketball coaches's scalp with a team that is ranked #12 in the country and has only lost 3-4 games! Wonder what coach they will go after (Roy Williams, Coach K, Bobby Knight??) if they get rid of Gotfried? And where the heck will the get the money? Probably raid the Sate's Medicaid funds for infant formula.:birgits_giggle:

If you don't live here -- you'll never understand how insane it is. Finebaum is a hack, his primary schtick is to go negative on anything and everything. He's been all over Lebo and Auburn basketball - now he'll love them for a week to piss off Bammers. When enough Bammers get mad at Gottfried, PF will be back on his side.

Now Paul is on WJOX and heard all over the state. I hate the guy, but he's like the Victoria's Secret sales magazine that comes to my wife.....you know you shouldn't look at it but somehow you do anyway.:blink:

I get Victoria's Secret delivered to me so that I can pick out things for my wife to wear.:whistling:

I let her pick things out most of the time, but she doesn't understand why the pages are always "stuck" together when it's her time to look.:dance:

Word is Gottfried is OUT after this season unless they make a final four appearance, which ain't gonna happen.

Good luck finding a better coach. If true, that is further proof that Alabama fans have the market almost totally cornered on delusion.

If you are asking about my initial post in this thread, I was referring to the fan base in general. If they are putting heat on Gottfried for failing to make the Final Four, they have lost all contact with reality. Exactly how many Final Fours did CM Newton and Wimp Sanderson lead the Tide to?

Oh I dont disagree. If the "majority" wants him fired for not making the Final Four then we are delusional. He has done a great job with a HIGHLY overrated team. I do think we should at least win a few on the road, :whistling: , but a Final four demand is pretty far fetched.

I seriously doubt though the majority wants him gone at this point.
