So I just realized I have become a bigger UT basketball fan than UT football fan.

I love the sport of football and college football/NFL over the NBA and collge basketball. However, with the current state of the football program Pearl an co have surpassed Fulmer.

The football program is like watching someone walk a tight tope and just praying they don't fall but fully expected them to fail. I constantly find myself watching the games and waiting for the them to lose in the end. The program has no momentum.

I am shocked when UT loses a basketball game. I fully expect them to win and pull something out of their bag of tricks to win a game in crunch time. It is like being punched in the stomach when they lose. This program is like watching a train that is getting faster and faster just building speed and momentum.

I love football but UT football is just almost boring at times while basketball is the exact opposite.

You should be horse whipped with General Neyland's suspenders until you have been purged of that insanity!

After we dominate Saban this year and bring all of you crazies back down to earth I'll be back on board!

its natural. Pearl is exciting, new, dynamic and a great recruiter. Both of players and fans.

Coach Fulmer is old, played out, predictable and an excuse maker that won't take any initiative to fix a problem.

Same here. Basketball is much more exciting imo, but defniitely the last recruiting class of football has made me look forward to something. :)

I feel the same way, actually. I fully expect that will change by mid August, however.

Whether or not it is still changed by late October...

Football is always at top for me. They could go 0-11 and the bball team could win the title, it would still be all about football for me.

Is it possible to love them both equally. I can't wait to watch both. Now B-ball has more upside this year, possibilities are endless. UT football is still awesome.

agreed. i think that the football games are just more fun to watch plain and simple. even in the 2005 season, i would never classify any of the games as boring.

I am in general fired up by both. I love the history of our football and following football recruiting. I love the on-floor personalities that you see in our basketball players..including our coach. Of course, I love to watch both of the games. Without a doubt, I get more fired up for each individual football game because their are fewer. But, as for watching, I love the Vols and get way to into both of them!!

of course, this also coming from the guy who was glued to the Lady Vols softball game last night...but I love to watch dominating athletes in any sport (just about :) ) ... and Ms. Abbott certainly dominates in her sport

I have to agree with the topic starter; I have become more of UT BBall fan than football.

The BBall team is exciting to watch and Pearl is so passionate about the game and his team.

I cant watch b-ball unless it's sweet 16 time. Because then, FINALLY, every game counts.

Football is life n death every week.

I think the fact that so many people are talking about Pearl and the basketball team at this time of the year speaks volumes about the state of both programs.

Football is like a birthright. We as fans EXPECT a 10 win season every year and if the Vols go 10-2, we are still talking about the 2. Football is king here and always will be BUT mens basketball has made some serious inroads. The excitemnet is there in basketball. We see the coach getting excited when we win and ticked off when we lose. Also, we see the players bust their tails on the floor. Do we really see that on the football field?

Did you see the 2003 UGA game? The 2006 Arky game?

The same could be said for mens bball pre-2005. I've watched more miserable UT mens bball games than I will ever see from UT fball in my lifetime.

At the rate the football program is going, don't be so sure. You're still a young man.

I was rebutting to the fact that he said that NONE of the football games are boring.
