Basic question about "SEC Media Days"

Ok, so I have never really thought about this but I can't really imagine how this works. I gather that the coaches, AD's, etc. all have meetings to attend during the days but what goes on during the downtimes? Do these guys all play golf and joke around as colleagues, hang out at the pool and drink Margaritas together, go out to the bars at night, etc. or are they bitter adversaries who stay to themselves when not in meetings? I would just love to be a fly on the wall I guess.

jk- anyone know where CECMD are being held in Destin? I'm just down the road and need a break from the beach.

You may be able to make it in time for s'mores and the fireside singing of Kumbaya at the beach tonight.

Richt will be leading the coaches in song.

Word on the streets is that Urbie will NOT be joining in song with the rest of the coaches.

Apparenty, he can't cry, whine and sing at the same time.

I heard Urban refused because players weren't allowed, and without Tebow, he can't do anything.

I think Meyer and Kiffin will be heading to Another Broken Egg for breakfast in the morning. After lunch they are going to the Gulfarium and then the night will be topped off with dinner at Captain Kidd's seafood.

Just another happy day in the SEC.

I'm sure most of the coaches use the 'downtime' to work. Making calls, recruiting, ect.....I'm assuming Kiffin doesn't see it as vacation, although it would be perfectly fine to take a break and have a few beers in the evening :)

Well I played acoustic guitar with a friend and sang 60's and 70's pop classics while the coaches and their families had drinks and socialized with everyone...it was very surreal to see them all together at the same time and place...I'm still in Destin but heading back tomorrow...so I'm not sure what they're doing tonight or any other nights.

I figured they all played golf and then got drunk, Peed for distance and headed over to the nearest titty bar...Sounds like a party!

Pretty sure this is just a conference meeting.

SEC Media Days are the end of July in Hoover, AL.

I most definitely saw John Adams, Jimmy Hyams, and Chris Low while I was checking in. And Pennington at a restaurant one night.

I know a majority of them play golf. im usually in destin around this time of year and always see them playing on the course behind my condo. i would say it is seen as a typical business trip. little down time
