Really, if you didn't know better, when you read this board you'd think we were 0-12 with all the problems we have on offense, defense, and special teams.
He's not even that old, is he? Isn't like 49 or something (no spring chicken, but not ready for a dirt nap, either). Our play calling isn't always the problem...not running the right routes can make any play called look screwy.
How is that negative? No, i'm not a huge Cut fan, but right now, he's the least of my worries as a Vols fan. Either way, he's getting older and he has stated he wants to be an HC again. This is his best year to become one.
as for the comfort zone JG, you may be right. But he could have some serious fun with a gunslinging pocket qb in the ACC.
I truely believe that Cutcliffe would be a great hire for GaTech. I would hate for him to leave Knoxville, but if a man wants to be a head coach, why should we stand in his way?
I say lets encourage him look at opportunities at other schools.
i should add that even though Cut is 53, his heart condition is going to cause schools to treat him as if he's 60 or older. Like TVA says. If he wants to coach, there is no reason to stand in his way.

JG or Hat. Does Cut have a chance at Arkansas? I don't think i would want to go there, but ya never know. He'd be in the "comfort zone" of the SEC and he could build off Nutt's recent success.
I guess the real question is does Arky really have a chance for Davis or JJ and if not, who are they going to get?
Wow... out of the names he mentioned, Cutcliffe might be a top 3-4 candidate. Jimbo has lost some luster, Terry Bowden has been away from the game for a while, Muschamp and Glen Mason are looking like Ole Miss and Nebraska candidates (respectively).
Probably Cutty, Paul Johnson, and maybe Edsall/Tenuta.
I'm still undecided on what I think of Muschamp. I've heard others bash him endlessly. Either way, I think Cut would seem more attractive as an HC than Muschamp
Shhh... we don't need to be making comments that make it appear that Cutty is not a bad hire. We need to encourage Cutcliffe to pursue coaching opportunities where ever they come up (preferably, not in Knoxville).
