This guy has been special since he first walked onto Shields-Watkins Field. Just gets better and better.

3 more sacks

He's gonna destroy that record, may set it this weekend. I'm a firm believer that records are set with the intent to be eventually broken, and I also believe that this is one record that The Minister would've been proud to see broken by a young man such as DB.

I notice almost every defensive play now the only person I watch is Barnett. That guy is fun to watch.

The Vols are going to miss Barnett in more ways than one, a Vol defense without Barnett......don't want to think about it......2017 who knows?

agreed. dude has been ballin'. we've had a lot of great defensive linemen, and i've been fortunate to see my fair share of them...but as a pure DE, there's no doubt he's the best one we have had in a generation or two.

he should, and will, go down and be on that "list" of all time greats with Peyton, Doug Atkins, Reggie White et al....that guy is special. his name and # should go in the rafters one day along side the rest of those guys.

He's been the only bright spot for the defense this year IMO. And I mean the ONLY one.

Come on, TKjr has played really well this year.

And for what he got thrown in to Jumper has held his own.

O'Brien was a beast untill being released.

Tuttle has played pretty good until his injury.

Absolutely no way this happens but could you imagine a year end press conference where DB announces his intention to return for his senior year? "Unfinished business" and that kind of talk. I know it won't happen and I don't want to see him do that he needs to go to the show.

But....
Que the spastic Kermit gif if it did.

I'm of two minds about this. I love football, but the gap between College, in first, and NFL, in second, is vast. I would be plumb giddy to have a talent of the caliber of Barnett on the team next year. But it would be horrific if he were to have a career ending injury.

I think I'd rather he go get his money. Not that he's called me to get my take on it. I'm waiting by the phone, though, as I'm sure the call's coming. :good!:

TKJr has been ok, but he's just limited athletically. But he does have a lot of tackles (mainly because our Front 7 is a sieve) and 2 picks.

Ditto for Jumper. He's been ok given his limitations, nothing to write home about. As Doug Mathews said, he's a walkon who runs 4.8 playing linebacker in the SEC....that's not a good match.

O'Brien was indeed playing well (beast is overstating it IMO....he had 14 tackles, 3 TFLs and no sacks) but the whole getting kicked off the team because he's a druggy thing keeps him from being a positive for our defense this year IMO.

Tuttle was playing better than KMac IMO, but that's nothing to brag about......9 tackles, 1 TFL, no sacks.

No, I stand by my original statement.....Barnett is the only good thing about our defense....a defense that is allowing nearly 10 more points per game and is generally worse than last year's defense no matter how you measure it.
