Barnett comes to terms with Eagles

I've always thought he was, excuse the pun, miles better than Miles Garrett. I think it will definitely show on the field for the Eagles.

Between the signing bonus and the 1st year salary, he pretty much has $9 million banked, not counting endorsements.

Of course after taxes and agent fees, that number gets a little closer to $5 million. I suggest he put about $4 away for retirement and then put the other million to good use (women, booze, cars and other toys).

OK. Derek. After you pay uncle sam and your agent a large portion of that money put at least 2 mil in a low cost Vanguard Index Fund and forget about it.

Great news. OP, it's funny how you titled this thread, it makes it sound like he was pissed about going to Philly, but he's finally come to terms with it.

This made me focus too hard on a Friday. I guess I will have to call it quits early... :)

I've shared this in the past, but I got the privilege of coaching DB in travel baseball as a youngster, and knew then how special he was...

Congrats Derek!

Well unfortunately financial statistics are not on his side when it comes to retirement. Maybe that 4 mil aside is a good idea..

I'm hoping you're drunk while typing this because if not then I don't know English anymore.

Big congrats to DB for a well earned payday.

Let's clean this up a bit for you:

"I hope he is smart and doesn't throw away his money. One butt, one car. If he's single, only needs a modest house. If he gets a family, can still live modestly. Doesn't need flashy bling. If he stays humble, he can be well off for a lifetime just from his NFL earnings. If not, he'll be broke far too soon. And I hope he stays away from the "parasite entourage." [really liked that phrase, had to leave it untouched] So I hope Derek plays his life smart."

Aber ja doch, DeutschVollen, kein problem.
