Barnes: “Highly Unlikely” Santiago Vescovi Plays this Season

You're not paying him a friggin' dime. So stop acting like you've got some sort of entitlement coming to you. If the coach who just had the most successful season in UT history offends you to the point where you have to name call like a grammar schooler, then there are 13 other SEC teams that would welcome an immature fan.
The guy is a troll, pure and simple. He's an attention seeker who gets a thrill from things like this.

guess we'll just have to roll with what we got and hope for some very good luck.

can still get in the tourney if we can get 19-20 wins somehow. Really need the Wisconsin win now - a "must win" game.

We didn't expect this team to be a lot more than bubble from the start. We do need that WI game tho. It would help a ton. But, there are plenty of routes to the NCAA if we lose it.

This could be a team that could miss the NCAA or squeak in. But, the way it is built, it's also a guard heavy team that if they got in could literally get to the 2nd weekend with guard play and a what do u have to lose approach. But, that would be a surprise.

Slick Rick makes 5 mill a year to put a good product on the floor. IDGAF if this kid plays or not... if we don't make the tourney with the talent we have now... Barnes will have FAILED monumentally. Getting a good recruiting class every so often ISNT good enough.

Go pound sand drive by.

I think Pearl could win with the team we have now. I don't believe we have the personnel to play this slow, plodding Rick Barnes half-court style of basketball. As a result, I don't think this iteration of Vols basketball will be dancing in March. I think we're probably an NIT team.

It disappoints me that Barnes can't or won't adapt his style. We have guys who could probably press and run the court well enough for us to make the tournament: James, Bowden, Ticket, Pons, Fulkerson, etc... That exciting style just isn't in Barnes' DNA. When a coach makes this much money, it just seems like he should be able to adjust his scheme to suit his roster.

So shots would automatically go in because Pearl was coaching?

JFC we have some stupid "fans".

So 1 bad season following losing your top 4 players form last year automatically is a failure? Barnes has the a top 3 class on the way right now and has a chance to be #1 if they land another big name. You are delusional if you think UT should just keep rolling from last year after losing 4 players to the NBA!!!!! I’m glad you don’t make the decisions at UT that’s for damn sure!!!!!

And Barnes is winning with them also. We are 8-2 and likely gonna make the tourney as a 8 seed or better!!!!

Barnes is here to build a sound foundation and elevate the program. We have a lottery pick or 2 on next year's roster and what could be a future coaching legend on the staff.

$5 million is a weak, tired argument. It's determined by the market. Putting the program in a strong state means another high level coach will likely take over once CRB retires.

Whether it's warranted or not it's going to be discussed. Now that Turner is gone it's not really warranted though imo. This should just be a year to forget about and prepare for the future. We know what we need. A PG and some shooters.

James, Bowden, Gaines, and Johnson are perimeter players we'll have to go with a non scholarship guy a few minutes if Vescovi does not play especially when either James or Bowden get in foul trouble. I think Barnes changes on the Vescovi decision.

Agree. If it comes down to playing a walk on or Vescovi in SEC play, I think Barnes will choose Vescovi after he's had a few weeks to practice with the team.

Probably should - its not like 4/5 star college players stick around all 4 years, turn him loose CRB
