Bammers and Gators and the level of dislike/hate

I see so much Bama hate and I know why but are they as cocky as Fla fans? I have never been to a Bama game but I have attended no less than 6 Fla games. Is most of the hate for Bammers just the history of how long we have been playing or are they worse than Fla. fans.

I detest Alabama more than any other college team, but that's a function of history. They were the team my father and my grandfather hated; they were beating us every single year when I was growing up in Knoxville. Younger fans mostly care more about the Florida game, and I can understand why. But every time the Third Saturday rolls around, all the loathing and revulsion I built up as a kid when we were losing ELEVEN TIMES IN A ROW to them comes flooding back; to this day there's still no team I hate losing to more. It makes me sick.

Well I must say I used to detest the Vols until I became a member here. Most of you are level headed, and despite the occasional jab you treat me with respect. I hated Vol fans due to me brother in law. LOL! Now I have found the true enemy which is AWBARN!!!! Their fans to us are like Gator fans to the Vols.

I dislike Bama, but I HATE Florida. I hate losing to Bama more, but in every other aspect, I despise the gators. The icing on the cake was when my friend's grandfather went to a UT/UF game in the swamp, and while minding his own business and trying to leave the stadium after the game, he was pegged by several pee balloons. Any team's students and fans that will throw urine on a senior citizen automatically gets deep hatred from me.

Oh I have a good Gator story too. When I was 13 I got punched in the ribs by this drunk Florida fan after Florida beat us and he yelled GO GATORS right in my face. And this was AT Neyland. They are totally classless and they'll get there's eventually. What goes around comes around. The greater the rise the greater the fall.

Florida fans are cocky....recent success has gotten to their heads, and rightfully so, but they are cocky and arrogant.

bama fans these days are just arrogant. "we're still Alabama" is what i'm used hearing. Implying that they are not anything today, but once were something. clinging to a history that no one else cares about.

and of course recent events are supposed to change that....i would expect though, if bama ever got good again, you will hate bama fans equally or more than you do FL fans today.

15 years ago........Bama was FL. those of us old enough to have lived thru that have never forgot.

I hate Florida but am more annoyed by Alabama. Living amongst the Bammers doesn't help. :crazy:
