We started discussing this on the radio today in Bham. Over the last few years, regardless of what the offensive personality has been, Fulmer seems to tone it way down and play the Bama game very conservative. Almost to the point that it looks like he is playing more from the approach of not losing, than going for the win. I was thinking back and trying to remember us taking chances and using misdirection like against Georgia, or airing it out, and do not remember it. I know every year it seems one big turnover changes the complexity of the game. And more than not the game is won or lost in the last 6-8 minutes. What do you guys think? Do we play Bama different than we do anyone else?

I don't look for any frills in this game. It will be a smash mouth affair filled with heavy doses of off tackle and a few field goals.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" may be CPF's approach to this game. We've put up good rushing yards lately, and without a consistent downfield game, the old-school power ball at least makes us two-dimensional (coupled with our short passing game). Fulmer is dedicated to a style of football that will likely never change to any great degree. Sure, we'll occasionally see the change-ups & trick plays, but I would say don't look for the current coaching staff to ever emulate the young blood of the SEC.

i think in the past, that's definitely been part of the problem...playing not to lose...prevent the big mistake etc....

but the last few years, i think we've just not been that good in some places.

back in the mid/late 90's, it was opened up a little bit more i guess, but lately we've seen this game just go back and forth from a physicality stand point, and honestly i think CPF prefers it that way.

but at the same time, i think this Bama game is more "must win" than any in recent history, and for that reason, we may just see a little more aggressiveness out of TN this weekend......who knows though.

I expect to see a lot of stunts and blitzes from Bama's 3-4 defensive front. It'll be interesting to see how the Vols respond. Maybe we will see more deep outs this week?

I expect to see high scoring. Our O is good, our D is average. Also, the last 2 have been such low scoring affairs.

Whatever the strategy - it has worked for the Vols!

I think Cut will have more influence and loosen things up a bit compared to previous years. Even last year, it was a bit looser than previous years but Ainge threw too many picks to sustain any drives.

We will play to win.

Yeah, it was Ainge's INTs that kept Bama in the game last year. I don't think that will be a problem again this year.

I expect Saban to pull something dirty. We better be on our toes.

We played a game this weekend? Are you sure the same guy driving that ga bus a couple weeks ago to knoxville wasn't driving us to Tuscaloosa?
