Put Hat up on a dunking tank and give people a throw for one dollar, or 5 throws for 3 dollars. Then wire the money. I'm sure Hat wouldn't mind since its for such a good cause. :)

more importantly, what was the outcome of their fundraising? Did they achieve their goal?

Not much success, we need to still encourage everybody to make a donation, by internet or Regions. FIU really had not made any plans for this, because they were caught by surprise that we would want to help. They got some structure in place to be ready next time. I will talk to their coach and try to help them get going early for their game with Florida in November. Thanks to everyone that helped. We just did not have the time or connections to throw this together in two days.

that sucks. hopefully other schools will follow suit and help them out in the upcoming games. College is about more than sports, class, and earning degrees.

Someone posted at the end of the thread about Florida's game with FIU being a potential fundraiser. Being that FIU is an in-state school, it would be a nice gesture by the Gators. 50 cents per fan would raise plenty of money.
