...that I am so glad Derrick Dooley is y'alls new coach. He brings a tremendous amount of class to the Tennessee program and I hope that his family's freindship with the Saban's will put to rest some of the bad feelings that have existed between Tennessee and Alabama fans in the past. Both programs are considered to be the elite of the SEC and I think the fans on both sides should start to act that way.

I think y'all have a great coach although this year has the potential to be a little rough. Saban was 6-6 in hisfirst year at BAMA and it took a lot of patience to watch Alabama football during his first year.

I will actually pull for Tennessee again when y'all are not playing Alabama and I wish coach Dooley great success as y'alls new coach.

Y'all hang in there and he will get things headed in the right direction. His entire family is solid as a rock and his mother (Barbara/Auburn grad but we will forgive her) is the best caller Finebaum has ever had on his show. She is on during football season so I suggest y'all listening as she will most certainly talk about Tennessee and her son.

third time this week i've been impressed with bama fans and disappointed with gator fans. i was in a room full of bama and auburn fans, and they chose to pick at each other rather than at me (tote my hat on all occasions). but i recently moved to jacksonville, and those gator fans have done nothing but talk smack and do that freakin' chomp in my face. even if i've just me them.

so thanks, bama fan, for having a little class. there IS hope for the tide.

There aren't that many classy Bama fans in the world but great post and I wish yall the best of luck.I really dont like listening to Finebaum because of the crap he says about UT but I will start this fall.

I'm certain that most Bama fans have even heard of Dooley since his hiring at UT. There's a lot of those "bandwagon" fans.

Both...I think he has the potential to be a great football coach and I think he has class because his parents are both class acts. (Even though they both went to Auburn..haha)

I have heard Coach Saban comment that he was one of the most organized assistant coaches he has ever had. He said that he is one of the few assistants he has had that actually gets the big picture of what it takes to be a head football coach. I don't know a lot about coach Saban but I do know that he does not BS anybody. If coach Saban thinks he is a good coach I have to believe he is a good coach.

Anyway, I wish him well at Tennessee.

Very classy Bamascoop. I know a lot of Bama fans like you. It's those who have jumped on your bandwagon that give you a bad name. We have more than our share too. Hats off to you. Enjoy the run. This rivalry, as you know, is very streaky.

That's a pretty good post for a Bama fan. Thank you for taking the high road.

I'm not talking about W's and L's but in class and dignity, Dooley is looking a bit like y'all's Curry and Shula, both of whom I respected and felt like they should have been more appreciated for what kind of people they were.

I agree with you're thoughts on Dooley, but I will still love to hate Alabama. I live amongst the Bammers and they get on my last nerve. I might not hate Bammer so bad if I didn't have to listen to them everyday, but I do. Good post.
