I mean, personally, I liked it better when the university only claimed 4 total (1938, 1950, 1951, 1998).

But I can at least see 1940 making more/ enough sense for an inclusion - or at least for arguments regarding such inclusion (given records) - than I can for 1967's inclusion.

Oh sure. Assuming we didn't want to actually accept the trophy. But since we did want the trophy, we had to sign the promotional contract that comes along with it.

I'm sure UT's so classy they would have said "Keep your trophy. We'd rather not have the crystal football than have it displayed at Wal-Mart."
