I was over in a Bama board reading the TN-KY game thread and posted some on it. The funniest part of it all is that a Bama fan just threw recruiting rankings out at me to show us that we are in trouble in years to come because the close wins against USC, VAndy, and KEntucky are great signs for Bama fans in years to come.

I guess the losses to ULM and Miss. State are great signs for us huh?:eek:lol:

A great sign for us is we are:

  1. Learning to win
  2. Are in the SECCG
  3. Showing good sparks on defense and building tremendous depth
  4. Showing good talent everywhere on offense
  5. Will have fresh legs at QB next year who have had lots of time with Cutcliff, arguably the best QB coach in the nation.
  6. Special teams are coming on strong in almost every facet
  7. The trifecta of Fulmer, Chavis, and Cutcliff are getting warmed up again, we have seen it in 8 of the last 9 games.
  8. Are 1 win away from a BCS bowl
  9. Are playing Saturday at 4pm against LSU, while the season is over for the rest of the SEC and 113 other NCAA Div-1A teams.

It sure is nice to get to the SECCG again... and have Florida, Georgia and Alabama sitting at home.

It may be better for UAT in the long run. What HS player could look at their team and not think he could play right away?

I don't care what the recruiting "experts" say....

If we can figure out who the QB is and get him playing well then we are in good shape next year...

The table is already set everywhere else...

And they want to say somethign about us hanging on or coming back to win and SEC home or road game.

not to give delusional bama fans any firepower, but dont downplay the importance of recruiting to the future of a program.

Absolutely, and the QB position will be key to finding that synergy that we seem to have found lately.

The only other spot I'm worried about is D-Line, but time will tell on that one, as we return 1/2 of our starting line. 3/4 if you count williams better than mapu (which I do).

If the Vols average picking up 2 SEC wins over the Tide each season (ie 6-2 for the Vols and 4-4 for the Tide), the Vols will have overtaken the Tide as the team with the highest SEC winning percentage all-time within 4 seasons.
