So the fact that Alabama scores a ton of points and a Tennessee barely scores any has no effect on how they set the point spread?

Only thing we wanna do is get out of there with no significant injuries. Gonna get massacred and it doesn’t remotely matter. Get in, get the game over with, hopefully with no injuries, and move on to the part of the schedule that matters, to the games we have a chance to win.

We can play the same type of good defense we played against Miss State and then some, and Alabama will still hang 45+ on us. Literally no chance that we stay within 17 points of that offense. No chance.

My point is that the objective in setting a line is to get the most action on the game. This is why lines move up or down depending on how much money is being bet on a game.

And what will the “different gameplan” be against a team that is light years better and more talented than that very average MissSt team we just played? We gonna play 15 guys, maybe 9 defensive backs?

There is no gameplan we can execute that will help us make a game of it. Our players were “beat at birth” compared to Alabama’s, just the way it is right now. Pruitt can scheme it all up, but when their 4.3 guys run right past our 4.6 guys, it’s all for not.
I don’t even care how bad the score is, this game is irrelevant. It’s much more important to get out of the game healthy so we can prepare to win 4 of our last 5 and get bowl eligible.

IF that same defense shows up, we will have an answer. We’re not gonna win, we agree there, but we will beat this current spread easily.

This game is not for the mentally weak.
I say pull that chin strap on a little tighter and punch them in the face all day. That's the only way you get better. Iron does infact sharpen iron

Fully understand that. But the circumstances of the individual teams and their performances to date have to factor in to how they set the line. The fact that one team scores 51 points a game and the other much worse team scores half that surely factors in to the point spread.

That’s fine, play hard, get better, but you still ain’t staying within 30 points of these guys. Put your gameplan in and coach your guys to execute it so that you get better....so you can beat the other teams on the schedule. But nothing you do is gonna help you win this game or keep you from getting embarrassed on the scoreboard. It is what it is.

Not gonna mean anything for the guys trying to stop Tua from completing all those slants and crossing routes to Jeudy and company all day long.

Yes as weird extreme inclement weather but it is a process that ends up getting the most money bet on a game. And if an updated extreme weather forecast for the game is expected there will certainly be an adjustment in the line based on trying to get as close to equal money from both sides on the game not how many points were scored last week. It's how they not only stay in business but continue to make money and build very large Casinos
