Cue the Benny Hill music.

You just know what’s going to happen.

Whatever they eventually get, they’re going to place blame on the fans for the hire.
People running that guy's name through the mud were wrong for doing that to him.. Now the ones protesting because there is plenty of evidence to say that was one ****ty hire i don't blame one bit. We've had Kifturd, Fooley, and Botch all in a row. Then they're going to hire a 500 coach who is a documented azzhat at Tampa and Rutgers. It also wasn't the fans that probably got that stopped. Some big money people chimed in on that deal and got it stopped. I think he would of rammed that hire through if it were just us out here complaining. The ones that fill the stands are a forgiving bunch..

I think 7 mil was a very good offer. I Don't see that we went cheap. It was close to doubling his salary. Were not talking doubling like 100,000 more, that's millions more every year. That would have made him 2nd or 3rd highest paid in SEC.

He wasn't leaving and never planned to leave, just playing us again.

Gundy just bent us over a dad-gum barrel. Here come another day of being the butt of every joke.

I’m pulling for Leach now. Offer him same deal and let’s bring the Pirate to Knoxville!

See, Carter... you are far too sane for this message board! I think, when a guy is making millions (I'll never be able to fathom this) per year, a couple more million is not as important as home, history and love. BUT, if you make him choke on money, he has to stop and truly think. I believe Gundy thought, that's not that much more, given where we are.... I pass.
Sure i agree if he's your guy then you go up to maybe double his salary. If no then, then go.

Gundy is a first rate dirt bag. I can't believe the administration fell for it again. Like Charlie Brown kicking the football.

Probably need to hit up Brohm Norris and Norvell too.

May as well get them raises as well.

Bring in Steele. He is 59. Maybe Tee will come as OC with the understanding he gets next shot after Steele retires.

I like this. So, it will will fail also.

Who is next?

Guess we end up with somebody we never heard of

God, it sucks being a UT fan some times. We can't have nice things

Don't know whether to laugh or cry.......as I see a highlight of a Georgia running a touchdown against Tennessee highlight on SEC Network....and ticker saying Miss.State just hired a non questionable coach......in less than a week.....smdh

We can either keep getting turned down by good coaches, settle for another Butch, or hire Kiffin and go win games. Time to suck up the pride and do it.

If they will not take Kiffin then get Les Miles or Kevin Steele and get on with it.

Hyams just said Steele is up next.

I'd throw offers at Sumlin and Graham. Not like they can leverage UT for a raise.

Kevin Steele is a good choice. Currie will find a way to screw this one up too. Maybe we can ultimately get the groundskeeper to be our head coach.

I would love to hear why Steele or Sumlin would be a good hire? You have lost your minds!!! Steele has been an average at best D.C. for years and Sumlin just got fired for not succeeding while recruiting in the state of TEXAS!!!

He'd have been a top 5 salary in the nation and UT didn't offer enough?

*****, please.
When you're making millions, a couple more probably isn't all that big a deal. Guy is a lifer at OK St. No one is going to pry him away from there. Florida couldn't do it. I don't know why they wasted their time trying. I guess just for the sake of saying they tried. Then they'll blame the fans for hiring the janitor at the local Highschool ,that once scored 4 touchdowns in a game the next HC..

No one here wants Steele. His only head coaching job at Baylor was a disaster, a 1-31 conference record. That would be raising a white flag.

Mike Leach- Has UT made him an offer?
Lane Kiffin- Before someone else grabs him up.

Please, NO North Carolina State coach. Make the same offer to Mike Leach and let him say no. Then turn your attention to Lane Kiffin. Everyone will hate us, especially Alabama. What the hell, why do we care if all the other teams in the SEC hates us. What is our GOAL? Win and with Mike or Lane we could. With anyone else we would still be playing second fiddle.

Les Miles... the same guy who had the state of Louisiana and Texas next door to recruit from and still got fired. His one championship was a lucky two loss season and lost to Saban every time. Why would he beat Saban here?

Kevin Steele would be a terrible hire. Think about it.. he is not a proven winner. He isnt even a head coach. What is the world are we doing? I would have rather just keep Butch Jones and salvage the damn recruiting class. This is going from bad to worse.

To turn down a 2.8 million a year raise they must have offered that for him to stay. Can't fault AD on this one.

Gundy was never leaving, he just trolls us hard every few years for a raise. We are the only school that spends any time and effort talking to him, because our AD is the only one stupid enough to believe that he's interested in leaving Oklahoma State.
