Ok then, I confirm it. I've been to most venues and UF twice. Worst experiences since I've been going to games.

For the record, I disavow on behalf of the UF fans and the university the comments of The Power T:Tebow guy. My guess is that Tebow himself would not want his name used in connection with the drivel this guy is spewing.

The worst fans is an opinion and nothing more. Some say Bammer, some say LSU, some even say Auburn. If some guy on some station on the radio can definitively say that Florida has the worst fans is nothing more than someone expressing an opinion. Finevol had a bad experience down there and I bet you that some of our fans had a good experience with some of the fans down there.

I have posted on this board off & on since 1997, under different names. (just can't remember them all anymore - old age!) I think the last name I used was Suwannee, but could not sign in with it this time and I re-registered. But I don't come over here to troll, elsewise I would not be posting. And I didn't come over here to rub it in, either - read my other posts. I had alot of Vol friends over here at one time.

Of course I enjoy the reputation - and you are my proof. You wouldn't be taking shots at us, otherwise. If you were dominating UF on a regular basis, you can't tell me that you wouldn't want to revel, too.

I use to feel the same way about UGA & Vince Dooley back in the 70's. You don't how obnoxious UGA fans are unless you have had several hundred woofing at you after losing to them, year after year. Woof Woof Woof!

Most people didn't know how to use the internet in 1997. Actually, I didn't think Gore invented it until '96, way before we were actually using it.

It's one thing to give people grief verbally, but as someone who's been to every SEC stadium except LSU, I've seen Gator fans routinely cross the line and get physical with visiting fans like no other fan base. Be it shoving, throwing things or outright fights, UF fans act like a bunch of freaking savages on game day.

I am sure there is anecdotal evidence from every school's fan base. But Gainesville by far takes the cake. In Gainesville, unfortunately, crassness is the rule and hospitality the exception. IMO, it is the worst of the SEC.

We were in a Gainesville bar yesterday prior to the game and one UT fan walked in with his son (probably about 10 years old) and the boy was cursed at. Another overweight Vol fan came in and chants of "You're as fat as your coach is" rang up. One gal told a UF guy that was talking to us that he was "talking to the enemy" and she refused to even exchange pleasantries. Just a complete lack of courtesy in general from that fanbase, although I'm sure there are exceptions (such as our Gator friends on this board).

After the game walking to the car was equally obnoxious. No question the way to silence the post-game antics is to win -- looks like we have a few years to wait for that.

These goofy posts are what give good ole chat rooms a bad name. Anyone that doesn't know that ALL teams have their crazies is smokin' the weed.

Everybody has that one family member that causes embarrassment but you try and ignore it and move on and it's no different in football, baseball, soccer, or winter Olympic curling.

I've been embarrassed for Tennessee fans and I've been embarrassed for Alabama and Vanderbilt fans. I've never really seen any difference no matter where I went.

ALL teams have their goofballs nut cases and always will. I've met good and bad at every game I've ever attended.

As Vol fans in Southwest Florida, we don't even need to travel up I75 to Gainesville to catch the abuse. A Sunday AM trip to a local eatery is enough. We have learned to retort in kind....Gator fans can dish it out, but they can't take it.

I haven't read any posts about how the Gators are obnoxious in Neyland, just in the SWAMP. It's just as bad for Gator fans in Knoxville as for you in Gainesville.

do realize that the posters of volnation are not players, we are fans. exactly how do we beat the hell out of them? unless you're talking about me sticking a boot up a gator student's a$$ if i ever have piss thrown at me. but seriously, i've been to neyland stadium a number of times and i have never seen fans act in the manner that a great percentage of gator fans act.

Not many Gators down in that area of the state - most of the people that live down there are yankees, and the rest are scUM fans. How did you get stuck down there?

I have never been to Neyland, but would like to. Do you really think that I would not be worried if I were wearing Gator gear?

If you guys come to Gainesville for a game, try riding one of the GatorAider buses. They run from most of the mall parking lots right up to the stadium, and are waiting to load when the game lets out. Having to park and then walk a gauntlet of drinking boozing tailgaters, especially after dark would bother the hell out of me, too. I used to try and park close to the stadium and then walk to the game, but once I found the bus service, it was well worth the $5 to ride, and those that usually ride the buses aren't drunk and unruly, as these aren't tailgaters and tend to be older fans - of both teams. Besides, I usually take one of my boys when I go to a game, and like any parent, I try to set a good example. There are ways to get to the game and avoid the bad fans, if you know how.

Also, I guess I may different from most of the obnoxious fans you may have seen, as I haven't seen very much of what you guys have, and that may because I don't associate myself with those who exhibit the bad behavior.

You want to see some really bad behavior, go to a FL-UGA game at the Gatorbowl. I have had bottles, pizza, drinks, and lots of other stuff thrown at me - while I was sitting in the stands at the game! UGA fans have to be the worst of any I have ever seen, even when they won all the games. The most obnoxious fan I think I ever saw at a Gator game in Gainesville, had to be a Kentucky fan, who was drunk, sitting outside of the southendzone before the game, who screamed and hollered profanities and gatorhater epithets at every Gator fan that walked by. He kept up the harrassment, even as he went to his seats. The only thing that finally stopped him, was the extreme heat that is there in the visitor stands in the afternoon, and the guy finally fell out from the heat and rescue had to come to his aid.

All fans have drunken jerks---but for me, bama fans are the absolute worst. I get all kind of grief from those rednecks every year more than any other team.

I'm truly sorry that you've had a bad experience here in G'ville..........there are trully some a-holes around....however I'd like to think that the mojority of us are classy......as a UF student and fan I do apologize for whatever those drunken retards did.......they showed no class and it was completly un called for............even if you win a game it does not give you the right to be an ass.
