Rose Bowl could pass on Big Ten title game loser, select Ohio State Buckeyes


Ouch. Getting knocked out of the playoffs and losing out on the Big 10 title wasn't enough, now the loser is also potentially going to miss out on the Rose Bowl in favor of Ohio State. Would be funny if 12-0 Iowa walks away with essentially nothing should they lose. Not even a Rose Bowl bid as a consolation prize. haha

I feel a lot better about playing the Spartans, than the Buckeyes. Its a better matchup for Iowa to play Michigan st than Ohio st. Go Hawks!

Iowa has rushed for like 2K yards this year, Beathard has only 3 picks. Receipe for a close game, still I like MSU by 8-12, so I will call it MSU 28-17.

I've watched Iowa play and they don't look any different from last years team.
They are playing with confidence, but I'll take M.St. to win. M. ST. 31 Iowa 23

The Rose Bowl is THE show in Big 10 country. To lose out to a team not even in the Big 10 title game is adding insult to injury. I assure you, MSU and Iowa would much rather go to the Rose Bowl should they walk away with no playoff bid and no Big 10 title. Whoever loses and gets passed over by Ohio State, their season is an epic failure given what was at stake. A team that's 12-0 and a team that holds the same record as Ohio State after having beaten Ohio State would get passed over by of all teams, 11-1 Ohio State. And why? Because they played in the conference championship while Ohio State sat at home because they achieved less this season. That's probably about the worst system ever. Big 10 is making themselves look like fools here all so they can cater to the Big 10's version of Texas.

Should be an easy W for MSU. Iowa has a season full of cans. Honestly, I'd love for us to play them again. Spank em and laugh all the way back to K-Town.

That would be messed up, especially considering if Iowa lost the B1G title game they'd bring the entire state to Pasadena given the season they've had.

Neither team is very good but it would be more fun to have Iowa in the playoff so you can have:

Clemson v. Oklahoma
Alabama v. Iowa

One massacre and one upset, just like last year.

I think its going to be a good competitive game. Every time the Hawks and Spartans play, its almost always a tight game. This game has been one of the best matchups in the BIG ten the last few years. Iowa 27 Mich St 21 Go Hawks!
