When he was a freshman at UT Eric Berry was quoted as saying that BJ was the leader of the class. He was a great student and strong in his faith, but he also had a great work ethic. For those reasons Cutcliff wanted him. Who knows if BJ would have beaten out Bray, but I KNOW that if he had stayed he would have at least been a great backup last year when Bray went down. He truly could have been the difference in several games as he provided that Senior leadership we so desperately needed last year. Stayed and competed? Yes, that sounds good, but if are the best QB in the spring and the coach still tells you that you aren't going to be his guy, then what is left? He wasn't being given the chance to compete and anybody on that team who knew him will tell you BJ was/is a great competitor.

Which is why he transferred to a school where he could play in football games.

I really don't understand why this is so hard for some people to comprehend?

Cause for one reason or another so many on here have an agenda and that doesn't fit in with it.

I'm sure there are a level of "politics" that come into play at all levels of sports that determine a lot a person's playing time regardless of talent. Whether your dad is a member of the booster club to a coach just not liking you or dead set on playing a particular person.

Clearly there are varying degrees of competence on this site as is the case with any fan base. Just be patient and try to understand those with such glaring limitations. So many on here have NO understanding of collegiate athletics or what it takes to compete on a high level, yet they ramble on...

Haha.. UTC actually played a couple of pretty good teams though.., Kyper sure sees something in him.. And he gets paid the big bucks to make those decisions.

A. Don't forget he transferred from UT. Espn will do anything to blow us up.
B. He also gets paid to find stories people will watch.

If I played as a middle school QB right now, I would look really good too.

Not really true about I-AA... A lot of guys develop at that level to become solid NFL players--granted most of them are not at the skill positions. Look at the NY Giants defense.

BJ basically quit rather than compete for the starting job. He obviously felt he knew more about than the coaches and I don't think his play proved it over the past couple years. Be surprised to see him playing on Sundays.

Just like with Poole when kiffen was here the depth chart was pretty much predetermined. What do you do if you're told you're not gonna get to play no matter what?

Obviously a lot on here would stay at UT, even if told that they would in no way ever see the field. These same people are also referred to as idiots.
