Just got a text saying that Austin Rodgers appeal for a sixth year is looking good for him and the Vols. Just thought I'd pass this bit of information along.

It's Rogers...and that is good news. A torn ACL is a terrible way to finish your college career.

That would be great...although I think it would be very hard for him to see the field with all the talent we have at WR.

yeah I agree, with all the WRs we have & have coming in, I just see him getting limited playing time

He's a pretty good receiver, but if he isn't the same after this injury, he may get buried in the depth chart.

Doubt that very seriously, he'd make a great slot receiver.

He isn't as good as Jones or Moore. I think that Thompkins will see significant playing time early on. Let's not forget about Teague. Kiffin loves to get the freshmen in there, so Ambles and Milton and Meline will get a shot as well.

With that said if Austin can come back he will get a fair shot just like everyone else, best man gets the job.

Why does everyone say this? Why move the kid and make him learn an new position in college when he has shown flashes that he can be a playmaker at WR

B/c our depth at CB is looking scary thin and he would be better suited for the transition more-so than anyone else

Yep. Plus, Monte really wants the kid on D. I trust his judgment of talent.

Do you have a link? I could see him being decent in Monte's defense. It might be better for him since Jones and Moore will start at WR and at least one of the freshmen or sophomores should emerge as a playmaker.

So move him there instead of someone that actually already plays DB such as Oliver, Wilks, Jackson, Gordon, Evans, Raines, Johnson? And that's not including if Rogan comes back.

i think a lot of you have forgot just how big of a role he played for us before he got hurt. if he comes back at 90%+ he will be a factor next year

^^^This. He's gona have to step it up to get P.T, with all the talented tall/big WR that are comin in that kiffin likes, and will use!

Austin played a big role for Fulmer, b/c Fulmer thought big time WR talent was measured by the likes of Josh Briscoe, Lucas Taylor, and Rogers. Austin is a great kid, hard worker, good attitude, but he just doesn't have the speed or talent to play big-time SEC football. But the team could use his leadership in practice....

I'm here and somewhat disappointed.

Not here to pick a fight with you man, but what's your deal with hating Rogers? Again, not picking a fight just curious. I know he isn't the best WR on the field but he generally catches it when you throw it his way, he's pretty consistent....JMO:peace2:

Go back and watch a lot of the '07 season, he led the team in drops, many of them came in CRUCIAL situations.
