Even if you consider the hiring of Lane to be a bad one (and I don't), he is smart enough to fill his staff with incredible talent including the best defensive coordinator that money (or blood ties) can buy.

It's far too early to be classifying any hire as "the worst in SEC history," but if any team should be throwing that insult at another, it is certainly not Auburn.

My personal favorite excerpt from that article:

Regardless of the circumstances surrounding Tuberville’s firing and Chizik’s hiring, a change of leadership will likely breathe some fresh air into the Auburn program. Ten years at one institution is an eon; and no matter how successful a coach has been in the past, a change after ten years is defensible in this day and age.

In other words, they may have completely botched the firing and the hiring, but it's OK since Tuberville had been around for 10 years.

They really have no room to talk... Chizik isn't exactly a sure fire hire

Lets evaluate this.

Kiffin has 3 NC rings who coached some of the best college QB's around. Helped revive a dead USC team which is now a powerhouse. Kiffin reeled in some of the best top talent in all of college in only a few months. Yes he has never coached a game before but I say his chances are pretty good.

Auburn hires nothing but a no name losing coach from nowhere's state. Lets do the math Auburn is an idiot.

But I guess time will tell.

Does this mean we need to put up Auburn memo's all over Ut locker room now. Do we need BEATDOWN ON ROCKY TOP ON 10-03 tee shirts now lolol

any school that hired gene chizik as their head football coach should have no room to talk about this.

if it turns out to be true then he will hold 2 titles.

1-worst nfl hire

2-worst sec hire

:birgits_giggle:

 There are two people in recent history with 1-15 and 0-16 seasons. How, exactly, is Kiffin the worst NFL hire?

Posi,
Now I know why you say that you're "on the lake". How's things going at Lakeshore Mental Health Institute? Are they treating you ok? Do they know you are surfing the net on the administrative computers again?

How Tennessee hiring Kiff is included in an Auburn spring football preview is beyond me. Oh yeah, it's Auburn.

Mark Richt will begin to realize 10 years is when you start to wear out your welcome after this season...
