I’d imagine in Alabama they’d change the rules before they fire a head coach for this

It'll come down to whether he beats Bama. The whole scientology thing doesn't play well on the plains. If he loses to Bama, the mandate is a good excuse to move on from a choice many already regret.

Arent they ranked? Cant see them justifying a firing of a ranked coach in his first year.

The mandate keeps them from having to justify it. They made this announcement knowing that Harsin isn't vaccinated.
I imagine his contract is worded a bit more strongly than the average state employee. I wouldnt be shocked if this wasnt in there somewhere since he has been vocal since day 1 about it.

Hes not anti vax. He supports people getting it, and information from their doctors.

Hes anti vax mandate. Big huge distinction that doesnt get made.

He's personally anti-vax. Anti-psychiatry. All that stuff.

I'm not making any comment on his personal decisions. It's his life.

I'm just telling you what I hear from folks I trust. His belief system is an issue for his employer.

The Governor just issued an EO saying state employees won't have to follow the mandate - not sure it will have any effect but it may be a reprieve

You think Auburn would have known he was a scientologist before they hired him.

Yeah, I didn’t think that would fly in Alabama. Auburn just can’t be happy. I think Harsin has done fairly well, losing a close white out to a penn state team that was much better then (healthy QB) and to Georgia isn’t that bad. I think they may be second best team in the west. if good bo nix shows up I think they could beat a bama team that has struggled twice on the road this year. And ultimately that would save him from any transgressions in that state.

There is no mandate from the state per executive order, I assume this is an Auburn University mandate?

If it’s an University mandate maybe they could fire him, but he’s a state employee right? Weird situation.
