DB Jason Allen leads the Vols in tackles with 112.... LB Kevin Burnett has 101... Travis Williams leads Auburn with 68.... Will Herring comes in next at 54.

S. McClover and Quentin Groves are tied with 7.5 sacks apiece.... Tennessee's Parys Haralson has 7.

Well, the comparison doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. Thanks allvol! Any idea about Auburns special teams?

Auburn Statistics

Tennessee Statistics

SEC Statistical Leaders

In only 11 ko returns, Auburn avgs 24.4 yards. Tennessee's is 18.1 yards.

Auburn avgs 12.8 per punt return.... Tennessee's is 6.0.

Tennessee is 1st in net punting... Auburn is 3rd.

Auburn is 8-of-11 in field goals.... Tennessee is 9-of-15

A big surprise... Tennessee's kickoff coverage gives up 18.8 yards per kick.... while Auburn gives up 19.8 yards per kick.

This isn't special teams, but surprisingly, Tennessee's red-zone offense is more efficient than Auburn's (82.4% to 77.4%).... but Auburn's red-zone defense is 68.4% and Tennessee's is 73.2%.

Auburn averages 50 seconds more than the Vols in possession time.

The biggest statistical differences between these 2 teams is margin of victory and wins-losses.

Goes further to show how close these two teams really are, statistically... Other than the Kentucky games, the differences and point totals don't look too far off

Here's all the "player comparison" you need to know:

AU: way better!

UT: way worse!

I think we'd look a tad better if we could have padded out stats with two non-conference bottom feeders like La-Lafayette and DI-AA Citadel.

I think margin of victory says it all.

If AU wins the game it's going to be by 20+ points.

If Tennessee wins it will be by no more than 5 points.

I see us winning, but not by much.

So here it is for all the marbles....Auburn has taken their last timeout to freeze Wilhoit...8 seconds left in regulation...who knew the Vols would play such a physical ballgame...here come the Vols leaving the huddle....a 52 yard field goal attempt faces Wilhoit....score as it stands is 3rd ranked Auburn 17 and the 15th ranked Tennessee Volunteers 16....theres the snap.....a good 1 and the kick is up and its.........Gooooooddddddaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! Tennessee Vols upset the 3rd ranked Auburn Tigers 19-17!!!!

(the ''it was a fluke upset'' keys are popping as we speak)
