He’s a BAMF

Assuming a YoY jump from Redmond we should have better CB play from him/Lee/Moss than we got last season.

Lee arrived on campus Wednesday around lunch and was satisfied with everything upon leaving campus several hours later to go ahead and make the pledge. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound athlete has one year of eligibility remaining.
With the commitment, Tennessee now has two defensive pledges from this portal cycle thus far as Lee joins former Kansas State nickelback Qua Moss on Rocky Top.

Back of the football card

Lee is a multi-year starter for the Tigers starting four games in 2023, 10 games in 2024, and 11 games in 2025. Over the past two seasons, Lee has recorded 63 tackles, 11 pass-breakups and three interceptions.
The Tennessee transfer commit is from Georgia and he originally committed to Ohio State out of high school before deciding to sign with Auburn, so Lee is familiar with Jim Knowles. Tennessee won out for the commitment over Ohio State and Ole Miss and Ole Miss.
Lee tallied 582 snaps in 2025, 642 snaps in 2024 and 336 snaps as a rookie in 2023. He was graded out by Pro Football Focus at 62.2 this season. In coverage, Lee allowed 21 receptions on 41 targets for 254 yards, no touchdowns with one pick this past fall. He added four pass-breakups. His PFF coverage grade was 66.7.

How this helps Tennessee

Tennessee needs help at cornerback just like it needs help in the secondary altogether. The Vols are losing corners Jermod McCoy and Colton Hood to the NFL and Rickey Gibson has entered the transfer portal. McCoy, the former All-American, missed all of 2025 with a torn ACL suffered early last offseason. Gibson, a returning starter, missed all but 19 snaps after being hurt in the season-opening win over Syracuse. Hood was a mainstay for the Vols and one of the biggest transfer portal pickups as he led all defenders in the regular season in snaps played.
Freshman Ty Redmond was forced into action and will be better for it as an expected returner. He ended up leading the team with three interceptions and 12 pass-breakups while being targeting a team-high 76 times through the air. He started every game but the opener following the Gibson injury. Fellow freshman Tre Poteat (69 snaps) saw some action in the Music City Bowl loss.
As an experienced SEC cornerback, Lee should make an immediate impact.
