Good luck getting the committee to watch conference tournament games. They have a history of locking things down early.

Yep. They locked it down before they clocked out yesterday. The only thing that would throw a wrench in the gears is if a team that would otherwise miss the NCAAT won their conference.

No team has ever lost 3/4 going into the dance and won it all. So while Auburn will still be the top overall seed there is real cause for concern that they won’t deliver on their expectations.

They might pay attention more tomorrow if we were to play and BEAT FL. Them having just beaten BAMA. Might look ODD to make us a 2 after beating 2 1 seeds in successive days. Hop we get to find out.

Kentucky lost 3 of last 4 ( regular season) in 2013-14 and still made it all the way to the Championship game.
Lost to UConn, tho. History is for sure against them winning it all .
BTW, I was one of the ones that said they don't win it all this year, and I stand by it.

When reporter asked Pearl are you worried going into the tournament losing 3 of 4 and BP became a total A-Hole with his answer. Showed to me the pressure is getting to him.
Yeah, not a great look for him. The reporter has to ask that question and Bruce knows it. He could be more diplomatic in that situation. The fact that he wasn't is kinda revealing.

Makes you appreciate the culture Barnes has built with players whom you can root for.

Can’t say the same about Pearl.

I think it looks worse than it really is…the TAMU loss is the worst but it was on the road after Auburn had won the regular season title. They got beat on a buzzer beater in OT against Bama and then lost to us today in a game that up for grabs with two minutes left…I think they’ll stay a 1 seed but I’ve been surprised before.

Auburn‘s biggest concern should be how they will handle a more tightly called game…they are extremely physical and could be called for fouls on just about every play. I know we’re similar but they hold and grab and push on every play…can they dial back their physicality if the refs do call it tighter?

I didn't think they would anyway. It wouldn't shock me if they lose in the S16.

Probably because Pearl has never done well as one of the top dogs. He's better when his team is under the radar.
