Auburn bleeding recruits

I don’t see why any established coach would ever go there. I can see an up and comer or someone like Freeze who can’t get a major gig any where else but not someone who is already successful.

That deal with Bowden and then with Tubberville, even though he is trash, should tell you all you need to know about them. It’s as if Lowder is still pulling the strings.

Because Auburn is willing to pay, and pay a lot. Harsin got fired after 20 games and and his great-grandkids will never have to work a day in their lives.

If Auburn was located about 20 miles east, just over the border into Georgia, it'd be a better job. The volatility and drama that usually seems to be around that program is 100% of the fact that they share the state with UA.

It's also still a better job than their critics (mostly Alabama fans) think it is. 14th in all-time wins, 21st in all-time winning %, has had 3 Heisman winners, has won a national title and played for another within the last 15 years.

When you looked past the Bama upsets he wasn’t a great coach. Yes, he had some kind of mojo to beat Saban here and there but he would also lose to bad teams. He’s not a bad coach by any means but we ended up with better.
Kinda sounds like Heupel? He's good for one stinker loss to an inferior team each year.

I don’t think it’s the same from my memory of Freeze. I’m not looking it up as I don’t care enough but I’m not talking about losing a road game to a bowl team from the SEC. My recollection is Freeze would lose worse games than that but maybe I’m wrong.

He absolutely did. Perhaps a hot take, but I don't think what Freeze did at OM is as impressive as it is at first glance because 1) it is largely built on the back of the 2 victories over Alabama and 2) what Kiffin is doing there now is even more impressive.

The Reverend had a number of head-scratching losses, way more than Heupel, that get overshadowed by the Alabama wins (2014 Arkansas, 2015 UF/Memphis/Arkansas, 2016 Vandy). TCU was a really good team that year (that was perhaps a play away from playing for the national title), but losing by 39 to them in the 2014 Peach Bowl was also shocking.

Anyone else feel like Freeze throwing his players under the bus last season has anything to do with his crappy recruiting this year?
